Position Summary The Senior Specialist, Epidemiology is • Responsible for owning and conducting pharmacoepidemiology programs to support BMS products. • Provides strategic plannning and implementation of Post-marketing commitments(Post-marketing database studies) Provides advice on pharmacoepidemiology principles to other relevant functions. Position Responsibilities Develop epidemiological strategy and implement epidemiological research activities to support all stages of drug development -Lead post-marketing database studies, including the study planning, protocol writing and executing 　　　-Lead or support NIR for risk management initiatives and other drug 　　　development and regulatory-related activities 　 -Provide strategic advice on epidemiology principles to R&D, MA and 　　　other relevant stakeholders and initiatives Assess external data sources (healthcare DBs, patient registries, others) and ensure suitable database for specific NIR Engage & establish partnerships with academia, regional KOLs, regulators, patients, etc. Ensures that the above tasks are performed in the most efficient manner possible commensurate with quality, accuracy, and timeliness and in accordance with current global regulatory requirements and BMS cost effectiveness goals. Establish relationship with Global Epi Group and Asian countries Epi team/colleagues Degree Requirements Preferably master degree in epidemiology or MPH w 2+ years experience in Epidemiology/RWE research but candidate with appropriate mix of qualifications and experience will also be considered. Experience Requirements At least 3 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry and 2 years experience in Epidemiology/RWE research Key Competency Requirements Knowledge Demonstrated ability at executing pharmacoepidemiology studies conducted internally and by external epidemiology groups Finite understanding of the strategies and tactics of pharmacoepidemiology within the pharmaceutical industry. Familiarity with the epidemiology methods and internationally evolving scientific and regulatory standards used for pre-and post-approval, drug risk assessment and the evaluation of risk management activities Familiarity with epidemiology data resources worldwide and their application to benefit-risk assessments Working knowledge of key external experts in peer governmental and academic agencies. Demonstrated experience working within a matrix environment, in particular working within safety teams, with clinical and marketing teams. Knowledge of clinical safety methods, regulations, and evolving issues. Ability to lead multiple projects supporting different compounds in the same therapeutic area Execution skills, knowledge of planning processes and implementation Skills General skills of project management including schedule management, budget management, quality management and problem solving. Effective negotiation skills for doing business smoothly. Sophisticated documentation skill Demonstrated presentation skill Stakeholder management skill (Global team, external/internal BMSKK, outside Thought leaders) Communication & Language skills Native level of reading/writing Japanese – able to completely understand medical articles and general business documents in Japanese, able to write and proofread formal Japanese in business context Native level of oral Japanese – able to discuss about medical and scientific topics, and communicate in an appropriate manner with internal and external stakeholders. English（Read/Write） able to understand medical articles and general business documents in English without dictionary, and able to create documents for any kind of job-related topics English（Conversation） able to discuss, negotiate and persuade in English within the responsible job-related topics, and able to represent BMSKK Epidemiology Japan in global meetings Travel Required As needed.
