Under the new VMware SDDC Modernization offering, the WWCC delivers high volume assessment and migration engagements In this opportunity, you will play the role of an advanced level technology specialist and subject matter expert, providing customer guidance by facilitating technical workshops, creation of low-level designs and implementation of use cases into high-quality solutions. In addition to customer facing responsibilities, you would also provide technical input to other business units, pre-sales and drive best practices in the form of document creation. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing You will be expected to effectively work as part of a wider project team or independently act as technical lead on migration engagements. You should be able to identify process gaps and work with the team to address them In collaboration with other team members, you should be able to build a scalable and efficient model for VCF 3.x – 4.x migrations and assessments Take ownership and accountability for individual deliverables. Proactively define project requirements/issues/constraints/risks and address them with PMs You should be able to effectively collaborate within different product workstreams within the team and with Business units, identify current gaps and find a way to bridge them You should be able to mentor other team members and provide them technical and consultative guidance as needed The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Perform a pre-migration assessment of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 3.x to 4.x Review and validate your and other team members assessment reports Drive customer facing and internal project calls along with project managers and provide technical guidance Manage customer and internal escalations, collaborate with support and engineering teams as needed Designing, planning and execution of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) migration from 3.x to 4.x Understanding of various 3rd party integrations with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and highlight any interoperability issues Work with product engineering team and resolve issues faced during assessment and migration Work with various BU’s for successful VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) migration from 3.x to 4.x What is the leadership like for this role? This position reports to a senior Manager in World Wide Consulting Center team. He has held various leadership roles in the high-tech industry before joining VMware. Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager.
