CSDP’s SaaS Infrastructure Team is responsible for building the distributed software layer that is used for deploying, managing and monitoring various SaaS products. You'll take ownership of meaningful, big-picture projects and springboard an impactful career. CSDP SaaS Infrastructure DevOps and SRE Engineer will be responsible for various activities that improve product quality by building and CI/CD infrastructure, automating various tasks and being responsible for SRE activities. As a result, your work will have a direct impact on productivity of team members, as well as customer experience of CSDP products. Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Ramp up quickly on CSDP product portfolio with focus on SaaS Infrastructure, including Build, CI/CD, Test framework and SRE activities. Implement various aspects of build and CI/CD infrastructure to reduce time consumed, improve efficiency and security. Be a major contributor to enhancing engineering productivity by automating various aspects of DevOps and SRE activities. Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams across CSDP organization and VMware to understand and implement best practices. What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? You will use your coding/scripting skills extensively to implement and automate various processes in the build and CI/CD process. You will improve product quality by integrating automated test cases into the CI/CD processes. You will pick up responsibility of SRE activities. You will work closely with the stakeholders in CSDP team to understand and implement their requirements. You will use tools like Git, Gitlab, Jira, Jenkins/Concourse What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? CSDP is a part of VMware’s Cloud Infrastructure Business Group (CIBG). You will report into CSDP leadership and work closely with many teams within and outside CSDP. Key Skills & Experience Requirement Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or Engineering. Strong Python skills and at least one of bash scripting, Java, C, Golang. Excellent knowledge of git version control system. Experience of working with Concourse/Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes. Experience in integrating automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines. Strong verbal and communication skills. 3 to 8 years of relevant industry experience, focused on enterprise / SaaS products environment. Bonus Skills & Experience Requirement Experience of performing SRE activities for a cloud based product. Excellent knowledge of Linux and vSphere environments. Experience in virtualized infrastructure and VMware ecosystem, including products like NSX, VCenter. Experience of working with Cloud Networking on Cloud Platforms like AWS. Experience of working with Gitlab. Experience with DevOps, continuous development, integration and delivery. Experience with build tools/environments like Maven, Gradle, gcc, clang, etc. Experience in setting up compilers/tools, debugging problems in build environment. Knowledge of building installer files like RPMs/DEBs. Where is this role located? Flexible: The location of this role is flexible within India ..
