Structural Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood has an exciting career opportunity for a Junior <b>Structural Engineer</b> to join our Oakville, Ontario team. In this position, you will be part of the structural engineering group delivering projects in the Power and Process industries. This includes structural steel and reinforced concrete superstructures for buildings, building and equipment foundations, substation structures / foundations, pipe racks, site works and various other miscellaneous structures. <br><br>If you have a successful track record and thrive on challenges in a fast-paced environment, this is the opportunity for you. <br><br><b> Responsibilities: </b><br><br><ul><li> Prepare conceptual and detailed design calculations, layouts, sketches, and specifications with supervision from Lead Engineer </li><li> Provide input to feasibility studies, design criteria, technical reports, quantity estimates and engineering specifications </li><li> Carry out site visits and inspections, as needed </li><li> Preparation of studies, design criteria, and quantity estimates </li><li> Coordinate with other team members and vendors as needed </li><li> Technical writing (client reports, equipment specifications, construction specifications) </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b> Skills/Qualifications: </b><br><ul><li> University degree in Civil Engineering </li><li> Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organization skills to handle multiple projects and tasks </li><li> Ability to work cooperatively with others </li><li> 2 to 4 years of experience in industrial structural design </li><li> Good working knowledge in analysis and design of concrete and steel structures to Canadian codes and standards </li><li> Good Working knowledge in using Staad.Pro </li><li> Good working knowledge of AutoCAD </li><li> Professional Engineer License in Ontario with eligibility to obtain license in other provinces </li><li> Excellent oral and written English communication skills are mandatory </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
