Senior Infrastructure Specialist

Schneider Electric Process Automation has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to assume the role of Senior Infrastructure Specialist in our Calgary, AB location. The Water and Wastewater group is focused on the delivery of SCADA systems for water distribution networks and water treatment plants. The position involves as well continued development of product features and product maintenance under the direction of a senior analyst or engineer. Main Responsibilities: Ensure the proper design of system architectures including selection and sizing of server, workstation and network hardware Physical setup of hardware solutions including racking, wiring, and connecting the equipment together. Install and configure software components such as Operating Systems, basic SCADA config, and related 3rd party software (security, backups, etc) Perform network configuration on switches, firewalls and network interfaces as needed for a secure solution. Perform onsite installations of SCADA system solutions into customer environments Participate in providing product documentation, including user level and internal documentation Support and maintain customer installed solutions including debugging, problem solving and applying updates and fixes to customer systems. Travel to customer sites (Canada and USA) expected to be in the 10%-25% range. Qualifications and Skills required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (preferably Computer, Software or Electrical Engineering) 10 years related post-secondary experience in software/systems design/installation and maintenance, preferably in the SCADA industry Knowledge in hardware solutions such as full server, workstation and switch/firewall solutions such that they can be sized and selected to meet specific end user needs. Expertise in Virtualization, Disaster Recovery solutions, Malware Protection and Network Security Provide technical input for development of product documentation We know skills and competencies show up in many different ways and can be based on your life experience.
