<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently sourcing for Blaster/Painter Foreman with extensive experience to join our team in LNGP, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea on a rotational schedule. Reporting directly to the Construction Coordinator, the successful candidate will perform blasting and painting duties in a manner that protects safety, health and the environment, whilst conforming to quality and time requirements. Always ensure good housekeeping habits and to maintain a safe worksite for yourself and fellow workers. <br><br><b> Responsibilities </b><br><br><ul><li> Prepare and paint surfaces, including initial installation and repair, per Wood specified standards </li></ul><ul><li> To understand and adhere to Stepback 5 x 5 principles in the performance of all duties, follow the Wood Safety procedures </li><li> Understand and work to Permit System </li><li> Ensure all JSA's (Job Safety Analysis) are reviewed and understood, and all associated paperwork is satisfactorily completed to permit and Wood Quality Assurance requirements </li><li> To assist tradesperson in their work when required </li><li> Maintain good conduct and work harmoniously with other employees using fundamental interpersonal skills required of the work setting. </li></ul><br><br>Blasting and Coatings Duties include but not limited to: <br><ul><li> Working closely with the team to spot blast and apply coatings safely to various surfaces to the relevant specifications as required </li><li> Ensuring that all blasting and coatings are executed in line with the required specifications and to the Wood procedures </li><li> Ensuring that all QA paperwork is completed in a timely manner. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Qualified industrial painter or significant site experience in blasting & coatings </li><li> 4 years minimum experience in the Oil & Gas Industry </li><li> Familiar with various blasting methods (such as dry/wet abrasive blasting, Ultrahigh pressure water jetting, etc) and the use of various types of abrasives (such as copper slag, aluminium slag, garnet, sodium bicarbonate Familiar with mini pot sandblasting equipment and surface preparation of metal </li><li> Familiar with surface profile measurement </li><li> Working knowledge of all blasting and surface preparation equipment and tools including setup and safe operation of all surface cleaning equipment / tools </li><li> Capable of performing abrasive blasting (wet / dry) while preventing occurring during blasting; capable of repairing any defects found </li><li> Familiar with mixing and application of various coating systems particularly inorganic zinc and epoxy coating system </li><li> Familiar with Wet Film Thickness (WFT) and Dry Film Thickness (DFT) </li><li> measurement </li><li> Familiar with painting equipment / tools setup and their application (conventional and airless spray, brush and roller) </li><li> Familiar with painting defects and ways to prevent / correct them including paint / thinner incompatibility issues </li><li> Familiar with touch-up coating repair </li><li> NACE Certificated holder Desired </li><li> Must possess Leading and Supervisor skills and experiences. </li></ul><br> If you're an experienced Blaster/Painter ready for your next project, then we are keen to hear from you today. <br><br>Apply now and take the next step in your career with this exciting opportunity! <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
