Be part of the adventure.<br><br><b> Job Summary: </b><br><br>The embedded software engineer will be part of the Wireline Engineering firmware team and he/she will work on the AngleWing project.<br> <br> The scope of work of this group is to develop and industrialize Embedded Software for Wireline downhole tools. Those tools operate in harsh environments exposed to high temperature, with limited connection bandwidth with surface and important constraints on the hardware selection for robustness to shock and vibrations. The equipment typically triggers sensors, takes measurements, post-process the data, records it in memory, communicates through telemetry with surface and by the addition of all those features delivers a service to our clients.<br><br>The digital systems are at the core of this downhole equipment and the Embedded Software Engineer role is to fully industrialize this digital part. The Engineer develops the missing software functionalities of the digital system with the objective of producing high quality code and documentation to help the project team achieve the tool commercialization. He/She is also in charge of the Embedded Software test strategy, and he/she works in close collaboration with the project team members either from electrical hardware or tool physicist. The Engineer will have important responsibilities on the project success and will need to show a high level of dedication and agility with the rest of the project team.<br><br><b> Qualifications: </b><br><br><ul> <li> MSc (Master of Science) in Embedded Systems, Electronics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering, or a closely related field of study such as MS Specialized Master.</li> <li> 3-5 years of relevant industry experience, more experienced engineers may be considered.</li> </ul> <br><br>Required Technical Skills <br> <ul> <li> Experience in embedded real time software development in C language</li> <li> Experience with embedded software programming, debugging and testing</li> <li> Solid understanding of design and testing of digital circuitry (multi-core microcontrollers, DSP, Flash memories, etc.), communication interfaces (USB, Ethernet, CAN, RS485, RS232, SPI, etc.), and analog circuitry (analog front ends, filters, ADCs, power supplies, etc.)</li> <li> Participating in agile software development, technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, source code management with Git, etc.</li> <li> Creating and maintaining embedded software documentation (requirements, specification, design, development, integration, test procedures and results).</li> <li> Experience in implementation of signal processing algorithms in embedded targets.</li> </ul> <br><br>Nice-to-Have Technical Skills <br> <ul> <li> Texas Instruments C28x dual-core microcontrollers</li> <li> Embedded Linux</li> <li> Azure DevOps pipelines and static code analysis tools</li> <li> Methodologies for embedded software design and test</li> <li> Experience in custom hardware development, debugging and test</li> <li> Model-based Firmware Development</li> <li> In the Loop activities (Hardware/Processor/Model in the loop)</li> </ul> <br><br>Soft Skills <br> <ul> <li> English</li> <li> Written and oral communication skill</li> <li> Teamwork</li> </ul> <br><br><b> Career Advancement: </b><br> <br> SLB Eureka Technical Career (SETC) provides proven technical contributors with a career path that offers them recognition, reward, and influence that parallels an equivalent management progression.
