This is a role based out of our VMWare Tokyo office to support our Japan employees and may entail cover for more APJ countries as required. You will work in a dynamic, progressive and fast paced environment and will be a key member of our team to support Employee Lifecycle activities that will deliver best in class experience to employees and stakeholders. You will be part of a cross functional, cross geographic HR Team that partners with other COE’s to deliver customer-focused and quality driven solutions while striving for operational efficiency and consistency. The Sr Regional HR Services Specialist supports Country Specific services based on Compliance, local language and legislation. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? o The primary objective of your role will be to cover the HR Services portfolio for operational, transactional and general HR support to employee lifecycle HR activities. You will be the country HR operations expert, an HR Generalist with a keen eye on local compliance and labour law. o Provide best in class employee/customer experience to employees, stakeholders and HR Team o Process improvement will be top of mind and thinking outside in to ensure we support key services through leveraging tools and technology o Champion our EPIC2 culture and team dynamics The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? o End to end support from onboarding to offboarding for operational and general HR Services portfolio o Manage onboarding for new hires for the countries you support, and provide Day 1 New Employee Essentials (Induction) o Partner with Benefits Team and external providers to manage employee benefit plans, set up new hires, process changes and de-registration of leavers o Monthly payroll support and ensure leaves of absence are up to date o Support immigration and relocation with country specific questions o Complete Occupational Health activities to ensure compliance with regulations and best practice o Support Tier 2 queries where country specific HR knowledge or solutions are required o Support audits and government surveys o Support and drive ad-hoc projects as required and take on SME role for some of our services o Support projects related to M&As, MSAs, ER and provide SME input from a country specific lens o Work closely with the HR Business Partner, HR Management Partner, HR Services team and various COEs stakeholders such as – Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, HR Tech and Talent Services teams to provide HR services for VMware in SEA region. o Manage and monitor HR operations/ OH&S related payments for the region o Excellent English language skills while being proficient in local languages What is the leadership like for this role?
