The Role: Newswriter, European Financial News The Team: Our newsroom is dedicated to delivering readers actionable news on financial markets around the world. You will have the opportunity to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and to develop a close team dynamic with co-workers from around the globe. The Impact: The Newswriter plays an essential role in writing and publishing top-quality news stories that reach an audience of decision-makers. You will have the opportunity to hone your writing skills, work with S&P Global’s extensive in-house data sets and gain industry knowledge in specific business sectors. Responsibilities Writing news briefs and daily/weekly features based on press releases and company filings. Identifying storylines and writing data-driven stories leveraging S&P Global’s extensive in-house data sets Analyzing data, identifying trends and creating charts/graphics Vetting company websites, stock exchange feeds, newswires and other sources to gather and monitor information Increasing your own industry knowledge, drawing on in-house training tools and other resources Collaborating with journalists across the globe What We’re Looking For A proactive attitude and a keen eye for detail. Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines. A strong interest in business news, and data journalism Requirements A Bachelor's/College Degree, Journalism, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Mass Communications or equivalent. At least 3 years of business news writing experience, preferably working with data sets A high level grasp of English language grammar. Outstanding communication skills Open to working on-site.
