Staff Software Engineer

Overview We are seeking an experienced Engineer to join our world-class Database Engineering organization. This team is responsible for the development and maintenance of a suite of industry-leading database performance monitoring and related applications. These products improve the quality of life for database professionals by providing best-in-class performance monitoring and productivity solutions, across multiple database platforms, whether in the cloud or on-prem. This position will be ideal for you if you enjoy building enterprise solutions that are architected for high scale, reliability, security, and performance, are adept at developing upon requirements through delivery to impact customers on a global scale and are also able to upskill the engineering organization by example. You should be excited to work with multiple tech stacks, solving complicated problems on multiple products and platforms. Responsibilities In this role you will technically lead the development of our existing industry leading solutions, and to help define the future of our database capabilities on our new Full Stack Observability SaaS platform. Develop proof of concepts and productize features that leverage new database capabilities Embrace engineering practices through a broad approach to engineering quality (consistent and thoughtful patterns, improved observability, unit and integration testing, etc.). Think outside of the current technology/stack limitations to push the boundaries on what is possible and deliver feasible solutions collaboratively. Promote a culture of engineering excellence and strengthen the database technical expertise of our engineering and product teams. Advise engineering and product management on technical roadmap, ensuring that the vision aligns with broader company objectives. that will further cement our industry leader position in database monitoring and insights. Partner with product leaders to understand customer pain points and market opportunities and translate them into clear and robust engineering solutions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of industry experience, or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of industry experience. Production experience with independent development in Go Programming, API , Java (Please note the team will be moving to pure Golang), candidate should be ok to learn Go language from Java. Containerization and Kubernetes GraphQL Kafka MySQL internals, system tables/views Distributed design and business logic Microservices Independently develops complex features through multiple layers (frontend, backend). Drives problem from its definition till successful completion on own. Experience with DevOps principles a plus. Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience driving teams forward and the ability to influence technical decisions to line up with the company’s strategy
