Segment: S&P Global Sustainable1(S1) The Role: Director, AI/ML and Automation Engineering The Team: This is a team that sits within S&P Global’s Sustainable1(S1) business, a new organization focused on ESG data, analytics and solutions; the role will interact with the S1 team and SPGI’s divisional ESG teams as well as with professionals within the sustainability space. We are seeking a director to drive the evolution of our ESG technology products to support its expansion efforts globally and help in expanding the engineering teams. The Impact: You will play an integral role in the build out of new products into the ESG market place. What’s in it for you: In this role, you will be responsible for leading a talented team of data engineers and scientists focused on driving research and development of new cutting-edge machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms that power automation and optimization capabilities for one of the biggest real-time acquisition marketing platforms in the world - reaching 100s of millions of users every month. Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will have experience leading efforts researching, developing, and deploying cutting-edge ML/NLP algorithms to automate and optimize planning and decisioning for extremely complex dynamic systems with imperfect information Be collectively responsible for designing, developing & maintaining technical infrastructure to train and serve models at scale on cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS) Be familiar CICD systems to ensure quick release of new models Lead a team focused on developing and applying state-of-the art NLP techniques for complex automation processes in the ESG space Work with cross-functional teams of engineers, scientists, and analysts, to devise implementation and experimentation strategies Coach and mentor data engineers and scientists to elevate the talent bar across Sustainable1 What We’re Looking For 14+ years of experience researching and developing ML solutions with experience of applying them to automation scenarios Previous experience leading a highly technical ML / Data Science team Strong ML and algorithmic background with a deep understanding of advanced NLP Experience with containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) Comfortable with data pipeline technologies/ MLOps frameworks (e.g., Spark, Beam, Kubeflow & Airflow) Knowledge of ML frameworks (e.g., Pytorch, Keras, Sklearn, Huggingface) Familiar with Gitops workflows (Jenkins, Argo, Spinnaker) You are proficient in a programming language such as Python or Java/ Scala You can easily work with a range of data stores within the relational SQL world (e.g., PostgreSQL, bigquery), NoSQL databases & key-store databases (e.g., Cassandra, Hbase based dbs) Strong computer science and programming fundamentals Proficient in a programming language such as Python, Java or Scala Deep understanding of system design and data structures Ability to effectively communicate technical information to a wide spectrum of cross-functional team members Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members Return to Work Have you taken time out for caring responsibilities and are now looking to return to work?
