Mechanical Engineer - Compact Carbon Capture

<b>Would you like the opportunity to make an impact in fighting climate change by developing innovative environmental technology?</b><br><br><b>Do you have the passion for technology development and believe that technology is key in solving our climate change challenge?</b><br><br><b>Join our Team!</b><br><br>Entering into a skilled and forward-looking team, working collaboratively to design and develop state of the art technologies that will make Baker Hughes a significant global player in reducing our carbon footprint on the planet.<br><br><b>Partner with the best</b><br><br>You will work closely and play a key role with other engineering experts in a multi-disciplinary R&D team to develop and commercialize the novel 3C technology - a rotating packed bed (RPB) process intensification technology utilizing centrifugal acceleration to intensify mass transfer.<br><br>As a Mechanical Engineer for Carbon Capture, you will be responsible for:<br> <br><ul><li>Designing and engineering of rotating process equipment, including prototype design.<br></li><li>Being involved in functional design verification by liquid and gas flow analyses.<br></li><li>Following-up on manufacturing and assembly (both prototypes and larger rotating process equipment)<br></li><li>Being involved in structural and other engineering calculations and analysis (e.g FEM)<br></li><li>Participating in design and safety reviews, i.e. HAZID, HAZOP, FERA, FMEA.<br></li></ul><br><br><b>Fuel your passion</b><br><br>To be successful in this role you will:<br> <br><ul><li>Have BSc. or MSc. in Mechanical Engineering, or trade certificate with extensive work experience.<br></li><li>Have experience with prototype design / development work.<br></li><li>Have extensive experience with design verification (functional/analytical) of rotating equipment.<br></li><li>Have good theoretical understanding concerning statics and steel constructions. Knowledge of design for welding.<br></li><li>Have experience in FEM analysis.<br></li><li>Have practical knowledge concerning ISO, EN and other international codes and standards pertaining to mechanical equipment is considered an advantage.<br></li><li>Have good knowledge of production methods, documentation and preparation of reports.<br></li><li>Have very good written and verbal communication skills in English.<br></li></ul><br><br><b>Work in a way that works for you</b><br><br>We recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
