Assembler 2 - 2nd Shift

OSI Laser Diode, a division of OSI Optoelectronics, is seeking an Assembler to support SECOND SHIFT operations (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm) with training to occur on 1st shift for approximately 1-2 months. Selected individual must be willing to learn on a variety of processes and have a great attitude and work ethic. Responsibilities Hybrid Assembly for receiver fiber optic products. Good handling techniques for sensitive, complex components. Fiber assemblies - attaching ferrules to prepared optical fibers. Seam welding 14 pin DIL packages, leak testing 14 pin packages. Filing out travelers and entering data in computer spread sheets. Testing and characterizing TO laser assemblies for power and wavelength. Loading and unloading laser burn-in racks. Boxing TO laser components for shipping to customers. Ink branding, epoxy backfilling of optoelectrics. Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies. Must be available and flexible to work a 2nd shift or extended work schedule. Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork. Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent required. 1+ years of experience with electro-optical components, fiber alignment, packaging assembly, and soldering. Excellent hand/eye coordination & manual dexterity. Excellent attention to details. Knowledge of ISO Standards and Procedures highly desired. HAZARDS Exposure REQUIRED: Required to work with chemicals such as acids, solvents, and gases in a controlled area using established safety standards.
