Our research center is a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art research and computing facilities. We work on applied research projects in the physical sciences to meet the current and future challenges of the industry.<br> <br> SLB's Research Center based in Cambridge is a distinctive marquee-like structure dominating the High Cross site on the western outskirts of Cambridge, England. This spectacular building was completed in 1985 and the smaller second phase was opened in 1992. It has recently been classified as a Grade II listed building. Altogether, there are more than 930 m2; of laboratory space and offices for more than 100 scientists, technicians and domain experts.<br><br><b> Job Summary: </b><br> <br> You will work with the global IT organisation to provide desktop support and IT service management to the scientific community in Cambridge. You will be exposed to a wide range of tools and business processes. This is a great opportunity to learn about IT service delivery and management.<br><br><b> Essential Responsibilities and Duties: </b><br> <ul> <li> Troubleshoot PC and laptop hardware and software issues</li> <li> Work with vendors to organise hardware repair</li> <li> Work with the global IT organisation to fix security and compliance issues</li> <li> Assist with local and virtual conferences in our state-of-the-art datalab and conferencing facilities</li> </ul> <br><br><b> Competencies: </b><br> <ul> <li> A familiarity with PC hardware and Microsoft software</li> <li> Great customer focus</li> <li> Show initiative to identify and solve interesting technical problems and share the results with the wider organisation</li> <li> The ability to communicate technical issues to a wide audience</li> </ul> <br><br><b> Qualification: </b><br> <ul> <li> Studying towards a Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related field.</li> </ul> <br><br>SLB is an equal employment opportunity employer.
