Finance Director

Department/Position Summary: The purpose of this working hands-on Director role is to support BlueCrest’s North American postal software business (BCC Software, headquartered in Rochester, NY) and BlueCrest’s growing parcel/e-commerce equipment business (headquartered in Baltimore, MD). This role is responsible for the financial oversight and strategic planning of each of these businesses, as well as collaborating directly with the senior leaders of these businesses and the BlueCrest Chief Financial Officer. This role is part of a team of leaders who are the driving force in the development and growth of BlueCrest with a focus on enhancing senior leadership’s ability to gain better insights into business and customer profitability, and an understanding of planning, forecasting, and performance measurement. Core Responsibilities: * Support relationships with senior leadership, finance, commercial, and other functional teams, ensuring alignment to business goals and timelines. * Demonstrate strong leadership and influence management skills, including the ability to challenge opinions. * Provide robust, clear, and concise communications, both verbal and written, to all relevant stakeholders across the organization. * Provide leadership, advice and counsel to business partners and senior leadership. * Financial oversight and strategic planning of the software and parcel lines of business * Review and analyze the financial results. * Prepare and distribute month, quarter, and year-end management reports. * Prepare and disseminate daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs with insights as appropriate. * Prepare financial analyses and related commentary, insights * Financial actual vs. plan & forecast comparisons. * Sales and revenue analyses, including (i) software sales to revenue conversion trends, (ii) software customer retention, renewal and pricing metrics, and (iii) parcel order pipeline by stage, written business and backlog positions. * Cost analysis and comparison vs. goals, targets (headcount, margin, etc.). * Supply chain related analyses focused on direct materials & labor capacity, utilization, and costs. * Perform “what if” analyses of potential business initiatives and customer RFPs (including revenue, cost and cash flow scenario planning); provide review and approval of parcel equipment and service proposals. * Develop annual financial statement plan and forecasts; support preparation of three and five year strategic plans. * Lead the postal software business month-end financial statement close * Reconcile balance sheet and profit & loss accounts. * Balance, reconcile, manage and maintain accounting systems interfaces to other programs. * Partner with BlueCrest Corporate Controller to ensure financial statements comply with US GAAP, including adoption of new relevant accounting principles. * Support parent company annual group audit of financial statements. Qualifications: Required: * Bachelor's degree and approximately 8 – 15 years of related work experience within the finance function; or master's degree and approximately 7 – 13 years of related work experience. * Degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, and/or Business; MBA and/or CPA is preferred. * Deep knowledge and strong understanding of the overall finance function and operations. * Prior experience in any of the following areas is desired: * Implementation and refinement of operating models particularly within the finance function. * Management reporting enhancement. * Finance transformation and accelerated close. * Assessment and redesign of business, risk, and control processes.
