Sr. Azure Cloud Advisor and Team Lead

The Opportunity KPMG is looking for a highly motivated and passionate Senior Cloud Advisor & Team Leader to drive high priority initiatives as part of KPMG ITS’ Architecture and Cloud Engineering Team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting a team of engineers and architects in delivering cloud-native solutions that are secure, reliable, scalable, and highly available - and occasionally roll up your sleeves to help deliver these solutions. To be successful in this role you should have considerable experience understanding and translating business use cases into cloud solutions leveraging, predominantly, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) on Azure delivered through Azure DevOps and GitHub. You must also have some experience coaching and mentoring highly skilled technical resources and have excellent communication skills to work with both on and offshore cloud experts and business stakeholders. Fostering teamwork, collaboration and learning must be accompanied by a get the job done mindset. What you will do Provide leadership and coaching to cloud engineers and architects to further embed cloud well architected methodologies into all team and firm deliverables; Help drive cloud automation best practices leveraging IaC and CaC tools and in particular Terraform and Ansible; Engineer next-generation, cloud-native products and evaluating/installing/configuring 3rd party tools/applications; Build collaborative relationships with other critical technology teams including KPMG ITS Global, Canadian Technology Support & Operations and Information Security to design, deploy and maintain cloud solutions; Be a role model in shifting left with a particular emphasis on embedding security, governance and compliance into all deliverables; Perform Business analysis – understand real world business use cases and requirements. Provide cloud-based solutions for the same; Provide Azure based cloud native solutions, including high level design documents, presentation and blueprints / diagrams; Leverage and augment the firm’s use of Azure DevOps and GitHub; Continuously learn new technologies and help the firm’s technology teams continue to augment capabilities, evolve best practices and innovate faster than our competitors. What you bring to the role Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related STEM field or work experience; 5+ engineering and implementing Cloud solutions; 2+ years coaching and mentoring highly technical cloud experts; Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred; Strong understanding of Cloud Native Architecture and principles and Infrastructure/Configurations as code; Hands-on experience in designing and configuring secure and scalable Cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure, including account structure, security and compliance audit, connectivity, shared services etc; Knowledge of Cloud services: application integration, functions, databases, data warehouse and analytics, serverless computing, machine learning, developer tools, security and identity management; Knowledge and experience working with Azure policies and initiatives; Experience working in highly regulated environments that require industry compliance certifications such as SOC2 and ISO; Strong understanding of NIST and CIS security standards and frameworks; Experience in Cloud automation using, Azure CLI, ARM & Terraform to enable Infrastructure as a Code, AWS CLI, Cloud formation, Ansible, etc; Fundamental understanding and experience with DevOps tools (Azure DevOps and Github); Proven track record in system integration and design and setup of Infrastructure as a service and Platform as a service deployment; Confidence and ability to lead discussions with clear goals, deliverables, documented agreements and follow up actions; Significant experience working in Azure. Added experience working with AWS and GCP is a plus.
