Senior Structural Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer with extensive experience in the Power Plants industry to be based in our Madrid office. <br><br>Responsibilities <br><ul><li> Perform the function of Senior Structural Engineer on large or complex projects, including Design and Supply of Power plants Boiler's steel structure and non-pressure parts </li><li> Perform steel and non-pressure parts calculations like foundations loads, calculation of steel structures and their joints (pressure parts supports, lugs and hangers, drums and tanks support, platforms, boiler structures, racks, shipping, lifting and erection structures, air ducts, hoppers and flue casing, baffles, lining and supports, stacks,), etc. </li><li> Performs technical calculations and technical report </li><li> Assures contract specifications, applicable codes and company procedures are fulfilled. </li><li> Prepares technical data sheets, material take off and specifications </li><li> Prepares, verifies and/or approves drawings related to the technical calculations performed </li><li> Ensures successful completion of the assigned deliverables per contract requirements within the budgeted time and cost constraints of the project/proposals </li><li> Reports to the Section Manager any technical project/proposal difficulty and /or out of standard solution to be approved </li><li> Coordinates and supports the Project Engineering Manager in the technical aspects of the project </li><li> Check, comment, and approval of steel and non-pressure parts shop drawings </li><li> Co-ordination with structural team and also with other teams of different disciplines </li><li> Identify circumstances considered likely to result in contract changes </li><li> Advise the Project Engineering Manager of any slippages and their causes and proposed corrective action </li><li> Provide guidance and training to junior and trainee engineers </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>Structural Engineering or equivalent <br><ul><li> More than 10 years relevant experience in Power Plant Projects (design and calculation) </li><li> Excellent command of Spanish and English languages </li><li> Good organization, written and oral skills </li><li> Knowledge of Spanish and International Standards and Codes (Eurocodes, AISC, ASCE 7, etc.) </li><li> Advanced user of StaadPro </li><li> Modelling package experience of TEKLA structures </li><li> Advanced user of Idea Connection </li><li> Advanced user of AutoCad </li><li> Advanced user of Solid works Simulation or ANSYS </li><li> Advanced user of MS Office </li><li> Holding a valid permit to live and work in Spain is required </li><li> Immediate availability to join </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
