The Lead, Pharma R&D Advanced Analytics, leads the strategic platform and services enabling advanced analytics, visualization, and AI-based intelligent automation across Janssen R&D. This person would have strong innovative, entrepreneur, and product development skills to work with the business domain experts in our Research and Development team. The company is strategically looking to differentiate itself in scientific operations by improving the utilization of internal and external data to drive insights and automation opportunities. As part of this strategy, this role focuses on analytical visualization, artificial intelligence, and cognitive automation strategy and delivery across the Janssen R&D IT project portfolio. This role is responsible for developing a platform strategy, supporting business project delivery, and the development and scaling of services to support the organization's growing analytics and intelligent automation demand. Key Responsibilities: Technical strategy and decision-making in support of Product Line Owner (PLO) mission addressing the Intelligent Automation, Analytical and Visualization needs of Janssen R&D. Enable business partners to demonstrate data assets to drive advance analytical visualizations, artificial intelligence, and digital automation to optimize business operations and enable breakthrough insights within Janssen R&D. By identifying and delivering technology-based business solutions, it is expected that the team will drive direct business benefit measured by cost, quality and/or compliance to business partner functions across the organization. Serve as an inspiring leader in Janssen R&D for Analytical Visualization/ Machine Learning / Cognitive Automation technical domain and be recognized as an authority in the field. Integrates across teams and is responsible for the overall delivery timeline. Responsible for working closely with Business and Technology Leaders to propose ground-breaking operational efficiencies. “Technology specialist” who spans analytical technology solutions implementations. Evaluate key technology trends and their impact on various business processes. Find opportunities for areas where technology provides driven differentiation. Investigate, identify, and prototype new technologies. Collaborate closely with other Product Line Technology teams (Technology Services, Data Science, High-Performance Compute, Data Platforms, and Engineering, Design Thinking, etc) to complete various projects. Accountable for the Solution Reviews and driving Design decisions, technical approvals across the application area, and alignment of scope for all types of releases in the end-to-end product lifecycle. Handles and coordinates with external vendor and deployment partners to ensure they meet their contracted results, agreed-upon timelines, and metrics using visualizations to communicate more complex data relationships and trends. Handle compliance impacts: IT Security & Risk Management, legal, GxP, SOX, privacy, records management. Address complex problems with broad implications for IT architecture, balancing the often-competing needs of standardization and innovation. Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree, Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Vision, Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, Medical Informatics, or a related subject area is required. At a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in design, development, and management of data life cycle for analytics applications using data warehouses/ data lakes or end-to-end automation At least one year of experience in Artificial Intelligence. Preferably in the Pharmaceutical field. Experience in leading complex data solutions in an Agile/Scrum, Cloud-based environment, and deployments at a global scale on platforms such as Cloudera, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure. Hands-on technical knowledge of analytics solutions, platforms, and software technology as it applied to business processes and business strategies. Strong Business Sense & Communication skills. Ability to work with business partners to understand business requirements and strategy Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, multiple partners, multi-functional teams, and evolving needs. Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and build collaborative partnerships, teams, and trust across functions. Demonstrated experience working across multiple franchises in an organization to drive the results Demonstrated working experience with advanced analytics, big data, and statistical analysis, and data science. Preferred Life sciences, health care industry, and/or R&D experience. In-depth knowledge and experience delivering analytical solutions to support R&D experiences for healthcare providers.
