Segment: S&P Global Commodity Insights The Role : Lead I , TechOps Cloud Support / Lead I, Cloud Engineering The Team: The correct candidate will be part of the Technology Operations team. This team currently covers L2 application, API, middleware, OS , server and cloud support for the S&P Global Platts application stack. This is a dynamic team that provides follow the sun support for a variety of applications used by the Platts business. We are looking for a highly self-motivated hands-on Lead Cloud Engineer who would focus on our cloud support activities. What’s in it for you: Exposure to a rapidly expanding element of the Platts business, including the opportunity to be seen as having a significant impact on the level of service provided, and liaising with multiple teams (such as the TechOps Support team, and internal teams that liaise with and advise external clients) to broaden knowledge and expertise in this area. Responsibilities: Administer AWS infrastructure including compute, network, and storage resources. Provision compute instances in AWS and manage resource utilization. Engineer network solutions in AWS and establish connectivity to data centers. Engineer storage solutions, content replication, meet performance requirements. Deploy managed services in AWS for Kinesis, Kafka, Elasticsearch, API Gateway etc. Orchestrate container deployment using ECS, EKS, Docker Coordinate implementation of Firewall rules and routing changes. Address security vulnerabilities in infrastructure. Implement highly available & fault-tolerant solutions to withstand system failures. Maintain network diagrams, systems installation configuration & guides, support procedures and runbook. Respond to critical production issues and provide immediate workarounds to maintain business continuity. Infrastructure vuln management and remediation, OS, and cloud vulnerabilities. Administer Kubernetes clusters and their lifecycle, to guarantee a high degree of reliability, security, scalability, and confidence at any given time, provide support, improve, and implement Kubernetes internal components and applications on top of multiple clusters and troubleshoot and triage issues as they arise. Being able to excel with minimal technical supervision, embrace reliability constraints, be proactive, contribute improvements to the platform. Assist in troubleshooting network, dns and storage issues and make recommendations for cost saving options and growth. Participate in a shared On-Call rotation. Lead and mentor junior team members. What We’re Looking For: 8+ Years’ experience in infrastructure design/implementation that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position. 2 years administering a Kubernetes cluster in a production environment Strong Implementation experience in AWS services (e.g., EC2, ECS, ELB, RDS, EFS, EBS, Route53, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, CloudWatch, Lambda, S3. Expertise experience in container platform infrastructure in AWS (EKS, ECS, Fargate) Ability to code/script in Python /Shell/PowerShell Language. Senior level experience managing and administering Linux/Windows based systems. Strong CloudFormation or Terraform knowledge (YAML and/or JSON) . Experience delivering projects via Agile methodologies Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Have experience on delivery, providing 24x7 production support coverage plan, cloud support and managing/administrating platforms including orchestration of Container platform. Excellent communication (written & verbal) and collaboration skills. Detail-oriented and a good team player. Willing to work providing support coverage for extended hours on rotation basis.
