The Senior Manager, Truth & Reconciliation is a newly created position that is part of the National Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (ID&E) team and reporting into the Director of ID&E. This role is accountable for leading the implementation of our firms’ Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan (T&RAP), a multi-year strategy that accelerates our commitment to responding to the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action
92 for the corporate sector. The T&RAP has the commitment of the senior leadership team and was developed in consultation with KPMG in Canada’s Indigenous Peoples Network, Indigenous employees, and Indigenous communities and organizations. This role will work collaboratively with the Director of ID&E, T&RAP Executive Sponsor, the National Indigenous Peoples Network, team members from the Talent Attraction, Human Resources, Indigenous Client Services Practice, Social Impact, Procurement, Communications & Marketing, Project Management, and leadership including geographic leadership teams and our Executive ID&E council. Location: Canada, virtual role with occasional travel as required for business purposes What you will do Oversee, enable, and work collaboratively with program owners to deliver on their T&RAP accountabilities (Indigenous Peoples Network, Talent Attraction, Human Resources, Procurement, Indigenous Client Services, and Social Impact) Plan, facilitate, and lead regular discussions with program owners and key stakeholders to support T&RAP progress, coordination, and communication Form, facilitate, and engage Indigenous Advisory Council to govern the T&RAP and achieve our commitment to ongoing consultation with Indigenous employees and communities Engage with geographic leadership teams on their role in supporting and advancing Truth & Reconciliation action plans locally Identify, launch, nurture and maintain strong relationships with external Indigenous organizations and partnerships to advance T&RAP goals Develop and deliver approach to measuring, tracking, and sharing T&RAP progress and impact in a manner that honours and upholds Indigenous methodologies and cultural traditions Identify risks / opportunities and facilitate discussions on how to address in collaboration with program owners Play a leadership role in developing education, training, and awareness-building to advance truth & reconciliation at a national level Serve as the ID&E lead working with the Indigenous Peoples Network to enable them in their role as strategic inclusion partners Report on T&RAP progress to key leadership teams, internal KPMG employees, and the market Lead external certification processes as required What you bring to the role Proven ability to enable, engage, and influence Indigenous rights holders and diverse stakeholder groups to work together within their areas of expertise to achieve a common goal Experience playing a leadership role overseeing a portfolio of multi-stakeholder projects in a complex environment Strong relationship building, collaboration and problem-solving skills Knowledge of the realities and lived experiences of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people Demonstrated facilitation skills to lead effective discussions that result in tangible outcomes A proven ability to distill big ideas into clear and actionable plans Understanding of Truth & Reconciliation and the role of businesses Experience working in partnership with Indigenous communities and/or Indigenous-led organizations Knowledge of talent processes (recruitment, promotion, and performance management) and/or business processes such as procurement, would be considered a strong asset The ability to fluently speak French would be considered a strong asset Keys to your success KPMG individuals Deliver Impact | Seek Growth | Inspire Trust and understand that a diverse workforce enables us to deepen relationships and strengthen our business.
