Observability & Tools Engineer

The Tools & Automation Engineer position provides an opportunity to not only learn about VMware products but also upcoming tools and solutions. Additionally, it provides ample opportunity to shape the Monitoring landscape by redefining and/or refining the current toolset. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Within the first 3 months learn and be able to support operations (with SME support) for at-least two of the tools/solutions. Should be able to independently manage, administer and handle support operations for two tools/solutions at the end of 6 months By the end of 6 months, should be a SME for at-least one tool/solution/automation framework, and be able to support additional tools/solutions Should have gained practical/hands-on skills related to enabling application Instrumentation and Observability The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? - Initially, most of the time will be spent learning and adapting to the Monitoring landscape - Assisting with day-to-day operations and requests, such as, adding/removing/updating server monitoring in one or more tools/solutions - Ensure optimal functioning and hygiene of solutions - Guide and onboard consumers from a Monitoring and Observability perspective - Identify and attempt, wherever possible, to automate (using any stack/programming language) routine operational tasks - Continue to fine-tune, plan for capacity, and stay upto-date with latest technology advancements in the Observability and Analytics space - Build visual dashboards to minimize the time taken to identify issues in application/transaction stack - Aid and guide consumers in enabling optimal application instrumentation - Be able to develop integrations, small frameworks using any one programming language What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? Be a part of a dynamic, tightly knit and diverse team based out of India.
