Project Supply Chain Consultant

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood has an opportunity for a Project Supply Chain Manager (contract) to join the team and oversee procurement and subcontracts activities within project task forces, and the co - ordination of those activities with those of other departments and / or task force groups. This will be to support our European Petrochemicals EPC project. <br><br>This role is primarily based in Reading and may suit an experienced Supply Chain Manager or an energetic individual looking to take their next step upwards in their career <br><br>Work scope: <br><ul><li> Will manage procurement workload, where ever that is based (e.g. in Reading or a workshare office) </li><li> Manage specific project activities within the Supply Chain Department that are not specifically located to the task force </li><li> Monitor and report progress of procurement and subcontracts activities on the project </li><li> Develop and manage procurement workload to realize the company's and client's objectives to completion of the project, fostering teamwork and high levels of performance </li><li> Responsible for the Supply Chain activities on the project, within man - hour and cost budgets </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Experience working within the Petrochemical and / or Onshore Oil & Gas industry </li><li> Ideally degree qualified </li><li> Must have experience of working on Pre - FEED / FEED projects </li><li> Ability to compile project procurement execution strategies </li><li> Prior experience with direct roles in one or more of purchasing, inspection, expediting, shipping, material control and construction contracts </li><li> Proven track record demonstrating that you have interfaced and presented to the senior levels of your organization within or outside the Supply Chain / Procurement Department and to international clients </li><li> Sensitivity to cultural differences in your teams and with Clients </li><li> Ability to interface with clients, customers and suppliers at management and director level </li><li> Ability to lead negotiations with suppliers and contractors </li><li> Demonstrated positive 'can do' attitude and be able to analyse problems and present viable and workable solutions </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
