Principal Structural Designer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Structural Designer to join our multidiscipline and multi-client Aberdeen based Engineering Hub to support various scopes on a Contract basis. Experience in Autocad & E3D essential. <br><br>Deliver structural discipline design work for assigned scopes of work within budget and provide expertise to the HUB. <br><br> Execute engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detailed Design <br><br> Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific Procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement. <br><br>Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations by keeping up to date with relevant regulatory framework and legislation. <br><br> Executing of assigned objectives. <br><br> Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to discipline work scopes. <br><br> repare for and carry out visit sites when necessary. <br><br> Participate in audits and investigations as required. <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>Qualifications: <br><ul><li> Minimum ISCED level 5 short-cycle tertiary education in engineering discipline </li></ul><br> Knowledge, skills and experience: <br><ul><li> An understanding of related engineering principles and practices, plus training and diversified experience in the field of activity is required </li><li> Capable of interpreting key documents including; engineering standards, piping material specifications, P&IDs and Line Lists </li><li> Technically oriented, mechanically inclined, good at mathematics and talented at translating intangible concepts into hands-on project plans </li><li> Competent user of CAD/D software </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
