Electronic Technician

<p style=''font-family: arial; color: rgb(109, 110, 113); line-height: 1.6em; font-size: 14px; background: transparent !important;''>Drillmar Resources are recruiting on behalf of our client, an experienced Electronic Technican to join a cyber semi-submersible drilling unit, which will commence work in Nigeria in the coming months.  Reporting directly to the Senior Electronic Technician the role is permanent and the successful candidate will manage and coordinate all installation, repair and maintenance of electronic equipment activities, will have a strong focus on HSE and will satisfy the following requirements:</p>

<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Ensure requirements concerning regulatory bodies are met in all cases of equipment repair and installation.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Perform daily inspections and maintenance on electrical/electronic equipment as per the requirements of the planned maintenance system.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Responsible for checking as directed the operation and installation of third party equipment.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Maintain clean and tidy safe working areas and equipment.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Assume the required regulatory responsibility to exercise control and efficient operation of the technical and electronic aspects of the vessel, under the direction of the Senior Electronic Technician with due regard for the safety of the crew, the vessel and its contents and the protection of the environment.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Troubleshoot and repair faulty electrical/electronic equipment including detection, gauging, communication, data acquisition, computers and navigational equipment.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Troubleshoot and repair faulty electronic systems in relation to subsea blowout prevention equipment and drilling package instrumentation and electronics.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Install, calibrate and modify electrical/electronic systems components.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Provide technical support, domestic and industrial electronic services to all areas of the vessel.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Maintain files, logs and records as required by the Company procedures.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Compile system status and breakdown reports, and report all failures and faults as per company procedures.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Monitor stock control of electronic spare parts.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Attend safety meetings including pre-tour and task meetings.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Respond to emergency situations as per designation on Station Bill.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Prepare Risk Assessments for hazardous situations. 16. Report any incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situation to the Senior Electronic Technician</li>

<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Valid documentary evidence of successful completion of an apprenticeship in electronic engineering from a nationally recognised authority, in country of origin/residence or HNC in Electronic Engineering preferred or City & Guilds SVQ Level 3 in Electronic Engineering accepted, or equivalent.</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>STCW Proficiency in Security Awareness - MCA Approved (Preferred)</li>
<li style=''line-height: 1.6em;''>Hazardous Areas - CompEX </li>
