Piping Engineer - Internship

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for an Intern for <b>Piping Engineering</b> department in our Madrid office <br><br>Wood is looking for students interested in accessing the professional world through external academic internships and offers the possibility to put into practice and expand the knowledge acquired during their academic career <br><br>Students will get the opportunity to enter in the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas industry as we look to develop your background in conceptual engineering studies, pre-FEED, FEED, EPC and PMC projects <br><br>The role is offered to fit in with study timetables and course obligations <br><br>The selected candidate(s) will cooperate assisting and directly performing - under the mentorship of senior colleagues - specific tasks as follows: <br><ul><li> Check engineering documents and drawings, identification of required resources and progress reporting under Senior Engineer Supervision </li><li> Perform piping stress analysis for non-critical lines under Senior Engineer Supervision </li><li> Pipe support design under Senior Engineer Supervision </li><li> Ensure that deliverables are produced to time, cost, and quality in accordance with the project schedule </li><li> Maintain a strong work ethic and understand team dynamics and adjust behaviour to gain maximum advantage </li><li> Understand workshare elements and how to divide work-scopes </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Last academic year or master's degree in Industrial Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or similar degree </li><li> Spanish language at native level </li><li> Excellent command of English </li><li> Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint </li><li> Knowledge of CAD-software as MicroStation or AutoCAD. </li><li> Academic situation that allows signing an agreement with a university or training center </li><li> Availability in the morning (daily dedication depending on the academic situation) </li><li> Able to manage own time and ability to prioritise at busy times </li><li> Creative and practical </li><li> Adaptable and persevering </li><li> Interested in pursuing a career within engineering </li><li> Good communication skills within a team and externally </li><li> Available immediately </li></ul><br> Desirable: <br><ul><li> Understanding of Pipe Specifications </li><li> Subjects as Resistance of Materials, Theory of Structures, Fluid Mechanics, and Heat Transfer should have been passed </li><li> Knowledge of ASME or/and European Pressure Vessel Codes </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
