S&P Global Market Intelligence: Credit Risk and Solutions The Role: COISS – Financial Risk Analytics Intern - London The Team: Financial Risk Analytics (FRA) delivers enterprise risk solutions to some of the largest firms in the financial services industry, and is part of S&P Global, a dynamic entrepreneurial company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. FRA is currently investing in their technology platform to develop a number of new revenues generating products, leveraging open source and big data technologies. These include visualisation, risk aggregation and smart data initiatives that address new data, risk and regulatory requirements and are highly visible and strategic within the organisation. FRA also uses successful conventional technologies such as distributed computing based on grids, large data formats, and message queue for both batch and real-time what-if type calculations. These initiatives are using best of breed technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, HDFS, HBase, Cassandra along with in-house developed technologies, and the successful candidate will be working in a fast paced, dynamic team environment, building commercial products which are at the heart of the business. The Client Onboarding, Integration and Support Services team (COISS) is responsible for delivering our solutions to our clients, from pre-sales through to go-live and ongoing daily operations. The Impact: As an intern in the COISS Group within FRA, you will be part of a team that is responsible for running all Risk-as-a-Service (RaaS) suite of products as well as providing day-to-day customer support for such products. RaaS is a growing and highly visible segment of our product lineup, and you will work on real business projects, taking responsibility for daily tasks similar to those a permanent employee would perform. You will be involved in many aspects of the client lifecycle from Pre-sales activities, through to new client onboarding and ultimately daily operations and support. Responsibilities: In this role, you will: Be an active and collaborative team member Support with the onboarding of new clients Interact with FRA Clients and team members globally to resolve technical and non-technical related queries, working in close partnership with other cross functional teams such as Engineering Teams (Software and Financial), Cloud Teams and our S&P Data providers Contribute to the python code used by the COISS Team Get an appreciation for Customer and Senior Stakeholder service and satisfaction which are key priorities for the firm. Candidates must be aware of the impact of their actions on internal and external clients Assist in the following key duties: Manage a portfolio of FRA prospects and clients in managing and controlling a wide variety of project activities Prepare and execute on senior stakeholder reporting and communication needs Effectively communicate overall project status to internal and external stakeholders Prepare and maintain business case and project initiation materials, including the ongoing project pipeline Capture and consolidate project metrics, and implement and leverage KPIs across the group, to assist in ongoing planning and continuous improvement Be flexible in dealing with large waterfall, agile, and RAID deliveries as required by the needs of the project in question Support FRA sales colleagues with project management expertise as required Monitor client runs to ensure they are within SLAs Troubleshoot errors and work with internal groups to provide resolution. Respond to client and other stakeholder requests by providing detailed analysis and feedback as needed. What We’re Looking For: You will have a programming background, a strong interest in Quality, desire to see the 'big picture', and interest in finance as you will work closely with your team members, other Agile development teams, financial engineers, and product development groups. Pursuing working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent) completing no later than April 2024 Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills An ability to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment. Interest in learning new technologies Experience writing code in a script language such as Python Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems Proficient in the use of Microsoft excel (e.g formulas, pivot tables, and charts), and powerpoint (e.g. developing custom slides with high attention to details) Previous experience with, or willingness to learn, running Cloud jobs (AWS mainly but Azure, Alibaba may be in scope) including troubleshooting We seek candidates with diverse backgrounds and ideas with a desire to learn and thrive.
