Materials and Welding Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting a Materials and Welding Engineer to work in our St. John's office on large scale brownfield offshore oil and gas projects. <br><br> Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: <br><ul><li> Ensuring project schedules and client approved budgets are managed and met </li><li> Preparing detailed Cost, Time, & Resource estimates based on client supplied work scopes </li><li> Ensure design, analysis and specifications are in accordance with applicable codes, governing statutory regulations, Wood procedures, offshore installation specific design philosophies and meet project objectives and industry best practice </li><li> Adhering to all HSEQ requirements within the Materials and Welding discipline in accordance with Wood procedures and management systems </li><li> Performing Materials / Welding / Corrosion engineering functions related to client projects, including but not limited to corrosion evaluations, material selections, review of design documents, failure analysis, welding engineering support, coating procedures, inspection procedures, and assigning welding / quality requirements for onshore and offshore fabrication </li><li> Providing Materials / Welding / Corrosion engineering support to other disciplines within Wood </li><li> Providing Materials / Welding / Corrosion engineering support to procurement processes, including but not limited to vendor evaluations, review of procurement packages, evaluation and disposition of material specification deviations, and review of supplier documentation </li><li> Travelling offshore as required for surveys and construction support </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br>Candidates should possess the following qualifications: <br><ul><li> Engineering Degree and Professional Engineer registered (or eligible for registration) with the Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador </li><li> 5+ years of experience in oil and gas industry </li><li> Relevant work experience; preferably with a portion in a Materials, Welding, or Corrosion Engineer capacity </li><li> Familiarity with coatings and fabrication would be an asset </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
