For our plant in Brossard, Quebec, we are recruiting a Health, Safety & Environment Director. Reporting to the Plant Manager, he/she will be in charge of managing prevention and actions related to occupational health and safety policies while ensuring the deployment of a sustainable culture. In accordance with the principles of the Schneider Electric Performance System (SPS), our policies and values, close collaboration with internal partners will be required to ensure the application of health/safety, environment, and building management policies to contribute to our operational excellence. Primary responsibilities include: - Occupational Health, Safety and Security: Ensure compliance by all on health/safety, environmental, site safety and building management obligations; To be a promoter and ambassador of the health and safety culture in the workplace by developing and accompanying the partners and the management team in order to be continuously in excellence and an example in the matter; Coach, advise and work in partnership with the different operational departments for the implementation of projects, industrialization, continuous improvement, implementation of risk reduction measures, etc... Continuously research and capitalize on internal and external best practices in order to deploy them Lead the joint committee composed of employee representatives and management members, train them and make sure they are involved according to the regulations in force; Manage the training plans in terms of health and safety at work in accordance with the legislation and our internal standards; Coordinate the occupational safety policy (people and buildings) in relation to the standards in force (internal and external / C-TPAT) Investigate all accidents or near misses with key people to identify the causes of the accident, and ensure that the necessary corrective actions are taken Follow up on accidents with external parties (prevention mutual, CNESST inspectors, etc.) Carry out internal reports requested by the central functions (e.g. monthly report on KPIs Environment and energy management: Deploy internal policies on environmental and energy management Raise awareness and develop a culture for integrated management in our daily industrial life Be an ambassador for the site's environmental management Follow up on environmental management improvement action plans and quarterly environmental reports (waste, recycling, water, etc.) Support the implementation of circular economy and sustainable development projects in the plant Act proactively to contribute to the optimization and reduction of energy consumption according to the principles of ISO 50 001. Qualifications and skills required: Bachelor's degree in administration with a specialization in health and safety (university certificate or master's degree). Equivalency will be accepted, e.g., Bachelor's degree by accumulation, Bachelor's degree in related discipline, etc. A minimum of 5 years experience in occupational health, safety and environment Relevant experience in health and safety in an industrial environment, preferably within unionized teams Specialization in electrical safety, machinery and ergonomics would be a plus Knowledge of health, safety and environmental laws and regulations in force in Canada and Quebec Recognized and consistent leadership An ambassador, coach and team player with the ability to develop and maintain a sustainable culture Seeks innovation and has a curious mind Continuously seeks to learn more on their own Have an analytical mind to quickly assess risks and make decisions Be motivated to evolve in a constantly changing environment and demonstrate excellent change management skills Schneider Offers: - Attractive benefits: Competitive offer, health care plan, wellness programs, paid time off. - Inclusive environment: diversity is an integral part of our history, culture and identity.
