Project Manager Global Support - Opportunity for Working Remotely

The Strategy and Operations team is striving to enable our Global Support teams to be more productive, work more effectively, and deliver better service to our customers. The primary goal of the team is to remove any obstacles related to process, tooling, or logistics that stand in the way of our Support teams doing their best work. Therefore, we are seeking a passionate individual who has experience of how a software Support organisation works and who wants to make a difference for our frontline teams to allow them focus on delivering an outstanding service for our customers. As a Project Manager in Global Operations, you will work across our product domains and regions leading both large scale transformational and incremental change projects. This role gives you the opportunity to lead projects that span the globe and have meaningful impact for both our employees and customer Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Within the 1st 6-12 months you should be at a point where you - Understand how each of the domains are setup and operating and who the key decision makers are within the domains. - Can comfortably lead projects across domains with minimal guidance. - Understand and be able to explain to others how our systems such as Salesforce, Amazon, Customer connect etc operate to allow us to deliver support - Can easily build an effective project team and use that team to deliver positive change for our organisation. The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? Plan, coordinate, track and manage project(s) to successful completion Develop and maintain project plans including charter, scope, work breakdown structures, estimates, resource plans, budget, task dependencies, schedule, open issues, and risk assessment, management and mitigation plans across multiple work streams Work with resource managers, technical staff, and business subject matter experts to orchestrate project delivery to ensure projects are delivered and executed in alignment with the overall project plan, driving customer outcomes, and customer satisfaction Provide clear and timely communication regarding the status of the project – schedule, budget, progress to date, risks etc. - to relevant stakeholders Drive continuous improvement of project processes – methodology, templates, best practices etc. based on lessons learned from projects Develop and maintain relationships within multiple Vmware departments to ensure projects can be delivered effectively. What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? You will be joining the Global Operations team led by Keith Lynch. The team currently has 5 people who are located in Broomfield, cork and Bangalore. The team culture is one based on building trust, on-going development through coaching, and giving back to the community through service learning. The team works very much based on empowerment; each team member is given the autonomy to make decisions that are needed to help drive change for the better within GS. Where is this role located? Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager.
