Manager Travel & Expense

Who are we hiring? The Travel & Expense (T&E) Manager provides direction and leadership in the areas of company-wide corporate card and T&E expense report processing. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of T&E, including the administration of the T&E system as well as all corporate card programs. Manages the Concur monthly close accruals for MSG Entertainment, MSG Sports and MSG Sphere. Ad hoc reporting when requested by divisional Finance and Accounting groups to assist with internal and external audits. Position pursues organization alignment with values, mission and vision through relationship building, staff development, role modeling and the implementation of organizational policies and procedures. Ensure the corporate card and Concur support team operates in a collaborative environment. This position manages a staff of A/P and shared services coordinators. This position will report to the Sr. Manager, Accounts Payable. What will you do? · Manage monthly Concur accruals as part of month-end close process, including the preparation of journal entries, providing the rest of the Accounting function with month-end accrual information in accordance with the monthly close calendar. · Ensures timely payments of expense reports and corporate card statements. Maintains accurate records and control reports. · Builds, develops and improves operations, processes and procedures in corporate card and T&E processing to support strategic direction. · Provide oversight to day-to-day operations of Concur Expense system (i.e. training, integration, system support). Serves as the primary liaison between the company and Concur system support (i.e. escalating system issues, design improvements). · Manages relationships with corporate card and expense management support representatives. Leads weekly/monthly recurring calls with support teams to drive company initiatives, enhancements and collaboration. · Review end-to-end processes and suggest enhancements to increase processing efficiencies. · Provide and build enhanced reporting analytics on our T&E spend. Make suggestions regarding how to control spending as well as review policies for possible refinement. · Effectively manage, motivate and train assigned staff and provide regular status of work-in-progress responsibilities to the Senior Manager, Accounts Payable · Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures which will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporate card and T&E group · Complete special projects in an accurate and timely manner, as assigned. · Work in conjunction with the company travel manager and travel agency to assure bookings are compliant with policy What do you need to succeed? · BS or BA in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent · Managed and supervised a T&E department · Minimum 5-years related experience, strong knowledge of GAAP · Excellent PC, Excel and Word skills · Strong understanding of monthly close process · Oracle A/P function skills and Concur T&E experience preferred · Ability to interact with cross-functional groups and executive management · Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, work within a team environment and company culture · Self-motivated, self-starter, committed, and ability to manage existing and new tasks and responsibilities to achieve departmental objectives · Ability to evaluate processes and recommend and implement more efficient practices and procedures Why is MSG for me?
