Principal Mechanical Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br><b> Principal Mechanical Engineer - Rotating Equipment, Stockton Based </b><br><br> Wood Process & Energy requires a Principal Mechanical Engineer with demonstrable Rotating Equipment expertise to join us on a permanent basis, supporting various project scopes for the chemical industry, refineries, oil and gas industry, energy sector, and new renewable markets, based in our new Stockton design office. <br><br>Join a culture of innovation , pushing the boundaries of what is possible to seek the best solutions for our clients. <br><br>Applications will be considered from experienced Engineers who have experience in design office projects, covering concept, FEED, Detailed Design and EPC frameworks across a number of projects, with a proven track record of managing Mechanical Equipment packages that require knowledge of multi-discipline interfaces. <br><br><b>Delivering the project scopes to our clients you will also: </b> <br><ul><li> Prepare material requisitions for a range of Rotating and Package Equipment </li><li> Provide technical support to Engineering studies such as design reviews, HAZOP, SIL, and Constructability reviews </li><li> Checking of vendor calculations against design code and best practice </li><li> Management of workload and budgets across designated work scopes to ensure targets are achieved </li><li> Understand, review and comment on process design data to ensure appropriate equipment specification and selection </li><li> Review suppliers quotations and prepare technical quotation evaluation </li><li> Review of vendor documentation requirements for use and integration within project </li><li> Manage project documentation effectively, ensuring all disciplines receive the quality information at the right time </li><li> Rigorously review post order vendor documentation </li><li> Correspond with the Vendor on technical matters and ensure that action is taken where necessary </li><li> Drive post order activities to completion </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Degree qualified in a Mechanical Engineering discipline, chartered status is an advantage </li><li> Demonstrable experience and knowledge of working with clients and vendors </li><li> Industry experience and knowledge within Refinery, Petrochemical and / or Onshore Oil & Gas including Renewables </li><li> Experience of Vendor co-ordination meetings and supporting engineering design reviews </li><li> Flexible attitude with proven experience of effective working in a project team environment </li><li> Able to b uild strong client relations to ensure expectations are met at all times </li><li> Computer literate with common software packages such as Microsoft Office </li></ul><br><br><b> Ideally you will also have previous experience of: </b><br><ul><li> Industry standard codes for API 610, API 617, API 618, API 675, ASME VIII & PD5500 </li><li> IT Packages such as Finglow, PV Elite, HTRI </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
