TKG builds on trusted open source and community projects and delivers an engineered and supported Kubernetes platform for end users and partners.  What is primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for? You will be a part of the Tanzu Kubernetes Grid Test Infra team, working as a software developer with a focus on developing and shipping our product faster. As such, this role requires equal parts technical and interpersonal skills. We are looking for a passionate and experienced engineer who has proven experience with Continuous Integration systems, automation testing framework. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? Enhance test platform to meet the requirements from all TKG stakeholders. Improve CI/CD system stability and make our product release process more efficient. Work with individual engineering teams to deduplicate and centralize their overhead (e.g. consolidate disparate CI systems, unify test reporting, parallelize work on different components). What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? You’ll spend decent amount of your time understanding how the various components of our product fit together with particular attention to build, test, release automation for TKG. You’ll spend most of your time on coding to develop tools and systems for automating build, test and release for TKG, you will be responsible for developing a full CI/CD platform for TKG. Identify useful new technologies that can improve efficiency and reliability and incorporating them into the CI & build release workflows Collaborate across teams to help/support them improve our product test coverage with test platform What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like? The hiring manager for this role is Selina Cui, Engineering Manager R&D. Selina has worked for VMware for 8 years. Prior to VMware, Selina was a Software Engineer for Oracle. Selina currently leads TKP test infra team and scale/perf test team. This role is on the TKG test infra team. Currently that team is composed of three engineers that work with in a very collaborative environment and split their attention upstream and downstream.
