Job Summary The Manager 1 for Integration and Certification Engineering (ICE) is responsible for testing of Commercial and Residential product offerings for Communication Engineer organization. Actively involved in coaching other Engineers on testing practices and product knowledge. The role is for a hands-on individual with the ability to guide team across multiple projects through vendor integration testing, evaluating risks and working through priorities for proper resource allocation This role requires the skills and temperament needed to work in a very flexible, agile, self-managed fashion, on intense projects. What will you do: Proficient in all areas of software and data testing, including unit testing, integration testing, systems testing, and acceptance testing Lead and collaborate with a cross-functional team for adequate detailing for test efforts estimation and create execution plans and connectivity testing Work close with technical leads to ensure clear direction is given to team members Should be able to represent Project status, budget, priorities across the Communication Engineer portfolio. Oversee team participation in team meetings to support adequate project scoping, design reviews, test planning, and technical documentation review for assigned projects. Provide directions and guidance to direct reports on testing activities on assigned projects; analyze requirements and ensure the testing strategy is aligned to a risk-based approach while mitigating risk exposure within all phases of project. Oversight of work force management metrics for your projects and escalate accordingly. Review, monitor and control the execution of domain automated test suites, identifying issues and potential gaps in reliable and efficient test suites to enable continuous improvements. Enable teams to adopt and automation tools to develop and maintain domain automated regression test suite. Create reports and communications QA governance of testing processes, data, and execution metrics to help drive improvement in team performance. Perform project risk analysis for features/projects in your ownership, provide mitigation and escalate appropriately. Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders both within and outside department to analyze any issues, provide root cause analysis and resolution. Communicate effectively with major business stakeholders including non-technical audience and senior executives, provide cross-function coordination and collaboration. Estimate and perform risk analysis for complex projects. Prioritize tasks for a team to ensure critical deliverables are completed on time. Mentor a team of engineers and provide leadership, skill-building and support to team. Develop action plans to execute initiatives, implement new ideas and best practices. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Requires exceptional attention to detail with the ability to focus on current assignments. Must have accomplished skills in computer-assisted documentation systems. Will interact with all functional departments within the organization.
