Analyzes, tests and assists with the integration of new applications. Documents all development activity. Assists with training non-technical personnel. Job Description Core Responsibilities To work and support commercial security automation products. Algosec knowledge is preferable. Agile development & maintenance of automation script/tools to scale cybersecurity work across the organization Design, engineer, deploy, and maintain custom automation products Build security tooling and automation for internal use that enable the Network and Securty team to operate at high speed and wide scale Define and own metrics and key performance indicators to determine the effectiveness of the Security Automation program Collaborate with product teams to ensure that the GitLab product meets security automation requirements for ourselves and our users Assess automation tools and integrate tools as needed, by onboarding our firewalls (Cisco FTD, Checkpoint, Juniper SRX, Palo Alto) Integrate Algosec (Firewall management tool) with ServiceNow Produce quality automation code You'll enjoy helping the team analyze security risks, analyze vulnerabilities, and assess business impact for information systems, medium to high complexity, and cloud-based solutions. By helping to resolve technical issues identified in regular risk assessments and vulnerability assessment reports, you can do your part Transparency is important to us - you assess the need for security reconfigurations and carry them out as needed You'll work independently with application and functional teams to drive safety thinking throughout the product development process, from concept to testing and implementation to operations You support the team in Security operations around firewalls, proxy, F5 loadbalancers, Cisco ISE. Employees at all levels are expected to: You have a degree in computer science/information technology orientation, as well as several years of professional experience in the field of information security 5 years previous experience on a Security Operations, Software Development, Automation team, or relevant education Previous experience on a Security Operations, Software Development, Automation team, or relevant education Scripting/coding experience with one or more languages - Python, Ruby, etc knowledge of Internet security issues, automation or software engineering technologies, cloud architectures, and threat landscape concepts Analysis: Identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions. Understanding of the Software as a Service (SaaS) model Understanding of the SRE/ DevOps model Familiarity with Cloud Computing Platforms - GCP experience a plus Familiarity with Kubernetes a plus Familiarity with infrastructure as code processes and tools a plus You are a team player, and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams You employ a flexible and constructive approach when solving problems You share our values, and work in accordance with those values You have passion for transparent security programs Passion for technology and automation You find it easy to organize yourself and have an excellent attention to detail as well as the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
