We need you to play a key role in the delivery and approach of CRUK's International Cancer Prevention (ICP) strategy, by being the CRUK expert in relation to this preventative measure in low and middle-income countries for the assigned cancer prevention area, in this case Tobacco Control.</p><p> </p><p><strong>About the team</strong></p><p> </p><p>As the largest charitable funder of cancer research in the world, Cancer Research UK is at the forefront of the global fight against the disease. From the national to the global level, we aim to make discoveries in cancer that aim to unlock new and better ways to beat it, translate scientific discoveries into interventions that benefit everyone, and partner with organisations to have the biggest possible impact.</p><p> </p><p>Beyond research, we have a duty as a world-leading cancer organisation to use our knowledge of developing and advocating for successful cancer prevention policies in the UK to support global progress; especially where the cancer burden and gaps in prevention and treatment are the greatest. </p><p> </p><p>CRUK's Global Team works to deliver on these global aims. Through our engagement with European and Global affairs, we progress improvements in cancer prevention and translate them into meaningful policies to benefit patients in the UK, Europe, and internationally.</p><p> </p><p>Our International Cancer Prevention (ICP) programme aims to reduce the burden of cancer in low and middle-income countries (LMICs)- where by 2030, it is expected that 75% of all cancer deaths will occur. Through the ICP programme researchers and advocates all over the world champion policies that will increase the number of girls vaccinated against HPV and reduce the consumption of tobacco.</p><p> </p><p>This work is underpinned by our partnerships, which mobilise and maximise our programmes and advocacy to achieve greater impact.</p><p> </p><p><strong>What will I be doing?</strong></p><ul><li><p>Developing specialist expertise in Tobacco Control</p></li><li><p>Keeping up to date with global policy and advocacy developments and the wider international development and global health environments</p></li><li><p>Working with internal and external partners to influence sub-national/national/regional/global policy implementation and advocacy</p></li><li><p>Designing and delivering policy research and advocacy programmes, from project scoping through to monitoring and evaluation</p></li><li><p>Supporting partners as needed to develop their policy research and advocacy work</p></li><li><p>Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on programmatic and policy advocacy work</p></li><li><p>Producing engaging communications for a range of audiences, including summaries of research outputs, blogs, briefings and case studies</p></li><li><p>Representing CRUK and the ICP Programme to a range of internal and external stakeholders and events, including policy department colleagues, Government officials, academics, and representatives from think tanks, charities, civil society groups and professional bodies.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>What skills are you looking for?</strong></p><ul><li><p>Proven ability to identify and solve a range of problems with minimal guidance</p></li><li><p>Excellent writing skills with an ability to produce high quality reports as well as more focused pieces of work </p></li><li><p>Proven ability to lead on the day-to-day management of projects, including providing technical input in the design and planning stage </p></li><li><p>Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively to internal and external stakeholders</p></li><li><p>Strong analytical and research skills </p></li><li><p>Proven ability to contribute to the development of team strategy</p></li><li><p>Good interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills </p></li><li><p>Demonstrable interest in global health.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>What will I gain?</strong></p><p> </p><p>Each and every one of our employees contributes to our progress and is supporting our work to beat cancer.
