Junior Information Security Engineer

Overview This position is a member of the Information Security organization reporting to the Sr Manager Global Threat Defense. The ideal Information Security Engineer will work in a cross-functional capacity to: - propose, design, develop, implement, integrate, and maintain detection scenarios for cyber security threats as described by external and internal intelligence sources - provide support for the analysis, development and integration of automation platform along with providing technical expertise to operational users. The Information Security Engineer must have a background in cyber security technologies, including deploying or maintaining enterprise security platforms, creating product documentation and sustaining enterprise technology services. Additionally, the engineer should have a some understanding of security operations, incident response, threat management process, enterprise IT and security engineering. Responsibilities - Recognize threats or attack patterns, ability to hunt and implement detection scenarios based on available log sources - Support Blue team in their effort to check detection efficiency and Red team in their effort to test at detection scenarios at scale - Design, implement, and provide support for automation platform operations; develop and maintain custom playbooks - Integrate automation playbooks with multiple IT systems to provide automated way to respond to threats Qualifications - 1+ yrs. or more years of experience in the security product design, implementation or operation (AV, SIEM, EDR, Malware protection, endpoint defense, network defense etc.) - 1+ yrs. or more years of experience in the design and implementation of security automations / playbooks or using scripting languages to improve efficiency of repetitive tasks - Understanding SIEM concepts, including custom applications and integrations - Proven knowledge of Python or other scripting programming language - Ability to describe and respond to MITRE ATT&CK techniques from a perspective of detection - Knowledge of attack patterns against enterprise infrastructure or applications - Demonstrated effectiveness working across multiple business units to achieve results - Problem solving, communication and customer service skills - Highly proficient in spoken and written English
