Software Engineer Lead

Job Description: Provide leadership and initiative in the overall coordination of designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs highly complex software programs for enhancements and new products. Responsible for highly complex concept design through the full development life cycle. Prepares and conducts systems programming test requiring interfacing and software tests. Coaches others in less senior positions. ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Software Engineer at ShopRunner/Dataworks, you’ll have your hands on all our key checkout systems, right from designing, developing and finally integrating with our payment partners, merchant partners. You will modify our core services and applications in our never-ending quest to help our shoppers and retailers connect in new ways. What We’re Looking For: Experience as a change agent making architectural and/or language decisions for web applications. We love Polyglots who know several languages and like the right tool for the job Experience communicating and convincing key stakeholders of technological change Expertise on an object-oriented programming language, such as Java/Kotlin, C++ or Ruby Expert-level JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML & CSS skills Experience with JQuery and other JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular Experience working with web frameworks Java/Kotlin Spring boot Experience with unit testing, integration testing and testing frameworks Flexibility to work with multiple integration points Experience optimizing web applications to increase speed, scalability, and extensibility Experience building service-oriented solutions and RESTful microservices is a plus Comfort using cloud technologies, open source frameworks, Agile practices, and working with product development from both a user experience and User Interface technology perspective Self-starter who can move projects forward by filling in the gaps on Agile teams, from leading a design session to doing some test automation, to mentoring a teammate struggling with a new technology Nice to have: Experience working on Docker, Spinnaker, Jenkins or similar CI/CD systems. Experience working on payment provider integration, eComm platforms, developing checkout solutions. Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience. Four (4) years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements. Domicile / Relocation Information: This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.
