Transformation Consulting is focused on delivering customer outcomes by ensuring the overall operating model, IT processes, roles, and responsibilities are optimised to support the adoption of new technology. Rather than giving our customers another generic “cloud strategy”, we partner with the customer on the ground to solve the challenge of “executing” the strategy. When we are successful, our customers have a highly optimised cloud operating model, enabling them to realise the value and benefits of their VMware technology investments. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? In the first three months, you will gain a deep understanding of Transformation Consulting frameworks, deliverables, collateral, customer examples, operating models, and optimised processes Within the first six months, with support of a mentor, you’ll take a lead role in transformation consulting engagements, and take responsibility for core aspects project deliverables—further developing your leadership, operational, technical, and business process skills. Within the first year, you will have successfully led and had accountability for multiple Transformation Consulting engagements. You will have further expanded the team's collective capabilities by creating one or more new service offerings. You will routinely engage senior-level customer executives, both internal to VMware and externally with VMware clients, providing perspective and guidance on short- and long-term transformation initiatives, drawing upon the depth and breadth of your technical, business, and service management knowledge. The Transformation Consulting Architect is a comprehensive role, which combines the competencies of strategy, architecture, operations, technology, thought leadership, and IT transformation (both in pre-sales support and project delivery What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be utilising on a regular basis? Provide input to scope and support Transformation Consulting sales opportunities, creating high-quality statements of work and customer proposals for governing and operating multi-cloud solutions. Deliver and facilitate workshops designed to drive customer outcomes within projects, influencing business and IT strategy through the delivery of deep Transformation Consulting service offerings Develop, contribute to, and promote awareness of Transformation Consulting Portfolio Services and delivery of best practices. Maintain a broad technical overview of core VMware product lines and keep abreast of future product direction. Conduct deep analysis of customer Environments (readiness/optimisation assessments, process mapping, operational reviews, creation of roadmaps, creation of transformation backlog derived from assessments, delivery of Sprint-based remediation activities) Effectively communicate operational architectures to the customer, third parties, and delivery teams Create operational processes, optimised process maps, organisational models, communication plans, and onboarding processes that will drive meaningful adoption of VMware products and solutions. These will be based on industry frameworks (ITIL, IT4IT, TOGAF, etc) and VMware specific frameworks. Leveraging broad technical and solid VMware experience, you’ll help develop roadmaps, plans, architectures, strategies and perform as-is / to-be analysis of customer environments Present to a wide range of audiences; including executives/leaders, architects, technical and operational experts. Establish solid working relationships with VMware strategic account teams, sales leadership, professional services, product management, and executive staff to drive awareness of the Transformation Consulting service awareness across APJ Enjoy working in a small start-up team where you are often doing something new for the first time and contribute to the creation of new service offerings May work within highly secure environments where you will be required to obtain Australian Government Security Clearance. Josh is a Senior Professional Services Leader with 20 years of experience in IT/Cloud service delivery, business excellence, and transformation consulting across various industries. Where is this role located? Flexible: The role is flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office in Sydney/Melbourne, some days during the week, and other days from the Home Office.
