Senior Architect. As a Senior Architect part of the VMware Federal Government Team, you will provide technical leadership for key strategic program opportunities and initiatives in the Department of Defence and Federal System Integrator Community. You will lead collaboration, development, review of outcome-focused and program-specific strategies and solutions. You will provide strategy and architectural leadership on Capture efforts. You will differentiate yourself among the sales beehive and drive more strategic engagement with VMware DoD customers. In this strategic role, you will harness your extensive DoD domain expertise, engineering, and architecture skills to accelerate customer outcomes based on VMware's and our partner cloud solutions. You will align DoD IT Enterprise requirements with solutions that resonate with our DoD customers and key SI partners. You will create a vision match based on mutually agreed-upon objectives and ensure that the proper capabilities are presented and delivered. You will provide vertical expertise and architectural leadership to Business Development and Capture teams. The Senior Architect works very closely with sales and extended teams to build long- term business relationships and aligning with customers’ outcomes. The Senior Architect is a high impact role responsible for ensuring pervasive enterprise adoption of VMware software and solutions and providing technical validation within the Department of Defence. In the SA role, you will act as a lead technologist and will be expected to have a broad understanding of technology. To be successful, you will need domain level understanding across the following areas from an overall architecture standpoint: DoD Information Terminology and Technology DoD Security Compliance and Acquisition processes Infrastructure (Data Center Design, Networking, Systems Hardware, System Architecture Virtualization, Containers, Systems Management, Security) Platforms (Application Development, Application Design, SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, Java, UI, Spring, IDE's, SOA) Desktop (Desktops Architecture, Thin/Zero Clients, Desktop Management, Desktop Design) Management (Datacenter Management, Application Management, Desktop Management) Cloud Computing (Public, Private, Hybrid, Cross-Cloud Management, Cloud Connectivity) Responsibilities: High energy, positive and self-motivated person. Experience with Professional Services component of solution selling You are comfortable in public speaking to small or large audiences You possess strong experience in the following VMware Digital Transformation Priorities: Apps and Cloud | Networking and Security | Empower the Digital Workspace Experience with large scale IT Integration or Automation programs preferred, e.g., experience in solution integration in a pre-sales and or post-sales capacity through calling third-party APIs, preferably with VMware technology. You take the initiative to develop business cases and justifications required to obtain internal and external stakeholder support to drive business forward Ability to travel Education and Experience: • Degree, BS/BA, Information Systems, Computer Sciences or advanced industry certification in Virtualization, Storage, Networking, Applications desirable and/or strongly preferred. You have had experience in working with the Department of Defence. You will have had experience in working in pre-sales or customer facing roles You are an Australian Citizen Department of Defence Security Clearance, NV1 clearance (minimum) or NV2 (preferred).
