Junior Bridge Designer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently seeking a team player to join our Infrastructure team as an <b>Junior Bridge Designer </b>based in our <b>Burlington, Ontario</b> office. <br><br>Wood maintains and foster a strong Health and Safety culture; our vast array of expertise, size, and diversity allows us to perform integrated multi-disciplinary and multi-objective planning, study, design and construction administration projects throughout Canada. The strength and longevity of these relationships are a testament to our commitment to understanding client needs, delivering creative value-added solutions and measuring our own performance relative to the success of our clients. <br><br>The Junior Bridge Designer, reports to the Senior Bridge Lead Engineer for Infrastructure and will work collaboratively with Wood's Transportation teams. <br><br>Key Responsibilities: <br><ul><li> Preliminary and detailed design of structural engineering services , including bridge and culvert design, contract preparation, construction administration and field work as required for structural bridge projects; </li><li> Computer skills including STAAD, AutoCAD , and Microsoft Office; </li><li> Data analysis and interpretation; </li><li> Project coordination and assistance with project management; </li><li> Client and agency liaison; </li><li> Structural design reports and proposal preparation ; </li><li> You will be expected to have your own vehicle to travel to field sites and meetings; and </li><li> Other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Undergraduate degree in Civil or Structural engineering; </li><li> Post-graduate degree in structural engineering is an asset; </li><li> Registered as an Engineer-in-Training with PEO; </li><li> 2+ years of progressive experience in structural engineering within the consulting industry including designs of standard bridges and culverts; </li><li> 2+ years experience using CAD and Civil 3D software with knowledge of standards; other design software experience is an asset </li><li> Related experience with Superior planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure </li><li> Enthusiastic attitude with interest in skills development and continual improvement </li><li> Ability to work independently and in a team environment </li></ul>
