Mission: To test, analyse, and report to all levels of the business the performance of Schneider products in accordance with Company procedures and ensure that they comply with the relevant user (customer), national and international specifications. The laboratory is recognised by INTERTEK to ISO 17025:2017. Location: This role will require 3 days per week on site in Chippenham for the testing of products, but we support working from home options and a flexible hybrid model. What will you do? To test, analyse, and report the performance of Schneider products and products from external partners and customers with impartiality. Provide technical expertise to Engineering Development, Commercial, Quality, and Product Marketing departments. Create laboratory documents such as test plans, test reports, certificates, and thermographic images efficiently using software provided. To advise and assist the Laboratory Manager in formulating the laboratory test programme, recommending procedures, and adhering to an agreed timetable. Audit laboratory performance against laboratory procedures. Provide support to other business functions such as quality, purchasing and customer service when carrying out investigation or evaluation of existing or new components and assemblies. To work SAFE according to laboratory work instructions and risk assessments to ensure best practice is being followed at all times. Develop skills and competencies to take advantage of any new ideas or skills that can be effectively used in the current role to improve yourself and business performance. Keep informed of new techniques, materials and methods likely to be of value in engineering or quality and assume responsibility for advising the Laboratory Manager/Engineering Department as appropriate. What will help you to be successful? Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical/ Manufacturing Engineering. You must have exprience in manually testing of hardware products. You should have 3 years’ experience in an engineering environment is highgly desirable. You should have experience of following procedures & methods, manufacturing techniques. Experience in using Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, MS Teams). Experience in using AutoCAD is an advantage. Knowledge and experience of Data acquisition software (Agilent systems) and FLIR thermographic software would be useful. You need to work as a real team player. Able to present your ideas. You need to be able to think out of the box. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluent English. What do we offer?
