We are seeking Masters of Tax students from the University of Waterloo to join our Wealth Asset Management or Real Estate Canadian Corporate Tax teams as Staff Accountants for their Winter and Fall 2023 work terms in our Toronto offices. What you will do You’ll have the opportunity to work across geographies and industries to take on challenging and groundbreaking projects. From analyzing and assessing business processes to improving client performance, you’ll be building strong relationships with our people and developing professional skills that will help set you up for success. As a Staff Accountant in our Tax practice, you will be a member of KPMG client engagement teams providing a full scope of tax services including research of the Canadian tax issues and the implications of various transactions, preparation of Canadian corporate, trust, partnership and personal income tax returns, and audit of the tax provision for Canadian public or private reporting issues and preparation of tax provision working papers. What you bring to the role You are enrolled in the University of Waterloo’s Master of Taxation program and are a highly motivated student who strives for excellence, innovation and collaboration. You’re passionate about being involved in your local community and university and have a proven ability to achieve personal and professional success while juggling competing priorities and deadlines. You have a strong academic record and are committed to achieving your CPA designation. Keys to your success: An interest in pursuing a career in tax. Strong relationship-building skills that will enable you to easily interact with clients, colleagues, and the wider community. A commitment to continual learning – developing new skills, taking on new responsibilities and broadening your knowledge through research.
