Senior Pipeline Lead Engineer

<p><b>Overview / Responsibilities </b><br />

Wood&
39;s office in Calgary is currently recruiting for a <b>Senior Pipeline Lead Engineer</b> for buried cross country pipelines to support our growth in the energy transition space.<br />
<br />
Key Responsibilities</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<ul>
<li>Lead a technical team of up to 30 individuals assigned engineers to provide the full range of pipeline services required for pipeline design</li>
<li>Produce pipeline documents and works with others to produce technical drawings</li>
<li>Prepare pipeline design calculations (wall thickness, buoyancy, bending, etc.)</li>
<li>Produce Pipeline design reports.</li>
<li>Provide input into pipeline engineering specifications, standards, and procedures</li>
<li>Complete Material Take Offs and associated Material Requisitions</li>
<li>Coordinate procurement bids and complete technical bid evaluations</li>
<li>Identify optimization and operating cost reduction opportunities</li>
<li>Ensure construction and field modifications meet the requirements of all applicable codes, standards and regulations</li>
<li>Preparing project designs, Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) cost estimates, economic justifications, project schedules</li>
<li>Provides technical advice on design processes or construction methods</li>
<li>Advises on the development of new engineering methods and participates in short and long-range planning</li>
<li>Supervises complex engineering tasks related to a portion of a major project</li>
<li>Provides technical leadership to teams of professional and non-professional staff to ensure successful delivery of project objectives</li>
<li>Execute and ensure technical compliance, accuracy, quality and execution of all aspects of onshore pipeline design</li>
<li>Provide technical expertise and support to business development activities as required</li>
<li>Develop and review pipeline installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance analysis and procedures</li>

<b>Skills / Qualifications </b><br />

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:</p>

<ul>
<li>A minimum of a bachelor&
39;s degree in Chemical, Civil or Mechanical or Pipeline Engineering</li>
<li>Registered Professional Engineer in Alberta for a minimum of 10 years</li>
<li>Experienced in the execution of front-end engineering and detailed design projects for cross country pipelines</li>
<li>Have a solid track record of achievement in the pipeline space</li>
<li>Proven ability working with and leading large multidisciplinary teams</li>
<li>Good familiarity with engineering standards, CSA Z662, ASME, API, etc. relevant to the pipeline industry</li>
<li>Awareness of with Alberta OH and S Code requirements</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal and organizational skills</li>
<li>Demonstrated willingness to learn and work independently</li>
<li>Strong technical writing and oral communication skills in English</li>
<li>Have extensive experience working in an EPCM or EPC environment</li>
<li>At least 20 years of experience with pipeline design and construction of large diameter pipelines</li>
