Lead Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer

<p><b>Overview / Responsibilities </b><br />

Wood is currently looking for a <b>Lead Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer</b> in the Americas to grow and support our global CFD consultancy business. This role can be seated out of our Calgary, AB or Houston, TX offices.<br />
<br />
This position will report to the local Intelligent Operations Manager and the Global CFD business manager. The successful candidate will grow Wood&
39;s CFD business through internal and external business development and manage technical scopes using a global execution team. The successful candidate should demonstrate a previous experience using CFD tools either in an academic and/or industrial environment. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong technical knowledge and the desire to develop and grow the business .<br />
<br />
<b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p>

<ul>
<li>Manage all CFD projects in America and assist in the execution of the projects</li>
<li>Chase growth opportunities within existing and new client base</li>
<li>Responsible of the business development of the CFD team in the Americas</li>
<li>Responsible to identify new opportunities outside of the current client portfolio</li>
<li>Perform client survey and competition analysis</li>
<li>Assist in the bid preparation for a better positioning of the company</li>
<li>Assist in the growth strategy development</li>
<li>Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed</li>

<b>Skills / Qualifications </b></p>

<ul>
<li>Bachelor in Chemical Engineering or related field. Candidates with MSc, MEng or PhD will have an added advantage.</li>
<li>Minimum 3 to 5 year experience in CFD simulations in complex fluid dynamics (eg multiphase flow, FSI, multiway coupling, complex thermodynamics)</li>
<li>Good understanding of the capabilities of Commercial CFD software (experience with open source codes is also desirable)</li>
<li>Proven project/study management experience</li>
<li>Possess good interpersonal skills and able to develop good client relationship</li>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, other languages would be appreciated</li>
<li>Able to work in a team environment</li>
<li>Must be either a US or Canadian citizen, or authorized to work lawfully in the US or Canada, without sponsorship from Wood.</li>
