About the role: The Technician 2 QA/QC role involves the responsibility for equipment verification, sampling of finished goods, secondary package testing, primary package testing, package seal integrity testing, Lens parameter testing and visual audit testing using ‘Laboratory Information Management Systems’ (LIMS) The Technician 2 QA/QC role also encompasses responsibility in coordinating and enabling Quality Control laboratory activities for Testing/Inspecting products, Equipment maintenance and Project work as directed by QC management, while ensuring compliance with quality standards and production schedules. Responsible for conducting QC testing and inspections as per QC procedures. Duties and responsibilities: Responsible for conducting QC testing and inspections as per QC procedures. Following Good Manufacturing Practice requirements in all aspects of role Product testing/ inspection following lab procedures and standards Collation and entry of results to LIMS (Laboratory Information System) as applicable Completes record of results as per Good document practices when required Maintaining QC equipment in a validated GMP state, as per QC procedures Lens sampling per procedure, as required Completing QC tasks as directed by QC management Recommends and implements revisions, corrections and changes to laboratory procedures, test equipment procedures and test methods when required. Responsible for completing Training requirements in a timely manner Responsible for maintaining personal training records in a compliant manner Prepares for and Participates in Regulatory and internal audits as directed All employees are responsible for minimising both the Environmental and Health & Safety effects of the work that they perform Manages lab activity to ensure targets are met. Ensures product manufactured is tested and reviewed as required Ensures Laboratory Systems and Equipment are maintained in a compliant state. Manage QC shift lab technicians (training requirements, holiday, attendance & sick day etc). Report any issues. Tracks yearly goals progress for Technician 1 as applicable. Ensures procedures are read on Compliance wire in a timely manner. Communicates department objectives and metrics as requested. Supervises the timely evaluation of complaints and returned product as applicable. Initiates QC audits to verify that prompt and appropriate actions and associated corrections are taken Provides input to budget planning process as requested. Utilizes cost control initiatives to reduce expenses. Qualifications Education: Essential: Min. Cert level in Quality / Science related discipline Desirable: 2 Years’ Experience in a regulated environment is preferable Ability to work in a team environment while meeting daily targets Ability to work on own initiative Flexible work ethic Attention to detail Being able to work in a team environment Strong Communication and Organizational skills Ability to coach, develop & mentor key staff Develops and maintains a positive team environment.
