The opportunity As a professional in our Information Management and Data Analytics (IM & DA) practice within the Management Consulting service line, you’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team with diverse skills and backgrounds working together to achieve success and drive impact for our clients. You’ll be applying data, analytics, technology, and business solutions to complex real-life problems that our clients are facing and collaborate with them to develop tailored recommendations to meet their needs wherever their organizations may be along their analytics journey and transformation. The IM & DA practice helps organizations in both private and public sectors leverage and utilize their data and information for competitive advantages, while elevating data and information as trusted enterprise assets. As part of the practice, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in a multitude of projects delivering solutions across the entire analytics spectrum, while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for your growth and skills. Examples or projects you could be a part of include but are not limited to: developing or optimizing data governance and management practices, implementing data quality management programs and processes, defining data and analytics strategies, defining master data management programs from end to end, participating in large scale data & analytics system implementations and data migrations, and delivering analytics solutions using modern tools. What you will do As a Manager, you will be working with, and learning from some of the best in the industry, helping our clients solve their complex business challenges, and growing your professional skillset by having a range of responsibilities, including: Playing a lead delivery role in a wide variety of projects for clients across different industries with varying scope and complexity in a multi-disciplinary team environment through the execution of various activities including but not limited to business analysis, data & analytics process mappings and redesign, leading practice assessments, hypothesis testing, business case development with cost/benefit analysis, data & analytics strategy and roadmap development, data operating model design Developing and utilizing technical and industry knowledge to resolve complex client challenges and consult on leading practice solutions Leveraging analytic tools and technologies to collect and analyze data to generate innovative business insights and recommendations in support of client objectives Leading teams in advising clients on digital solutions for Document and Content Management Leading the development and deployment of modern data platform recommendations and solutions for clients within their business and technology ecosystems As a project lead, communicating (written and verbal) findings, recommendations, and other deliverables convincingly and in a simple to understand manner – including technical and business communications – across various client levels including senior executive stakeholders through the preparation of reports, presentations, analyses, and other artifacts Building long-term business relationships with client teams and executives through engagement delivery and networking in professional organizations Empathizing with our client stakeholders and rapidly becoming knowledgeable on their industry’s business and community issues that drive their needs Leading business development by presenting thought leadership directly to clients, at industry conferences and leading the development of winning proposals (approach development, effort estimation, collaboration with peers) and negotiation of contracts with clients Working alongside senior peers within the practice to proactively drive business development activities through our practice’s service offerings with current and future clients Championing your own growth trajectory and learning interests to deepen your understanding of relevant data & analytics trends, technology stacks and innovation strategies Supporting the growth and mentoring of your peers and practice as part of practice development efforts You will have the opportunity to be part of our growing Data & Analytics practice in Canada, supported by professionals across Canada and globally through KPMG’s network of firms. What you bring to the role You have a strong affinity with data and analytics, and you have the demonstrated ability to operate in an analytical manner but also able to bring clarity to unclear situations that may arise. You are also motivated to collaborate with your team to bring solutions to the clients. Furthermore: A completed MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or Data & Afnalytics Preferably 5+ years of experience in data & analytics with demonstrated versatility having delivered and led in different types of data & analytics related projects or initiatives Experience working in a consulting environment and client facing roles is considered an asset Experience and knowledge of one or two focus industries (e.g. Financial Services, Public Sector, etc.) is considered an asset Knowledge of and experience leading the deployment of cloud based data management platforms would be an asset, for example from Informatica, Collibra, Microsoft, IGC, Snowflake Experience with Master Data management or Data Governance implementations would be an asset Experience with various analytical tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, R, Python, SQL, PySpark, Alteryx, and RPA tools would be an asset. Knowledge of governance and data management standards, such as DAMA-DMBOK, CMMI and DCAM is an asset Industry-recognized designations/certifications would be an asset, including PMP, TOGAF, ITIL, Cloud (e.g. Azure, AWS) Experience and understanding of analytical techniques and modeling concepts (AI, ML) would be an asset Drive and willingness to learning how to use new tools, adapting and pushing the boundaries of your thinking, and leading in different types of projects You are a team player and ambitious in developing yourself personally and professionally including elevating the growth and potential of your peers You are unafraid to ask the good questions in pursuit of solutions but be the face of a project team in answering difficult client questions Demonstrated time and project management skills and the ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and requests under tight timelines Demonstrated individual responsibilities and success in critical projects with internal or client exposure to top levels of the organization (C-suite sponsored projects, investor initiatives, etc.) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate strategic solutions to client stakeholders at executive and operational levels You are enthusiastic about complex projects and you are a problem solver You bring insights and methods for data quality analysis, transformation, mapping and cleansing You have demonstrated experience coaching, counseling and motivating team members, both in the domain of data management, as well as clients Openness to travel locally and internationally based on agreed upon client and project requirements (after COVID-19 limitations ease but in line with established safety policies) Keys to your success: KPMG individuals Deliver Impact | Seek Growth | Inspire Trust and understand that a diverse workforce enables us to deepen relationships and strengthen our business.
