Construction Manager (OCONUS)

Summary The Construction Manager (OCONUS) will plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. The Construction Manager (OCONUS) will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the projects. Responsibilities Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors Select tools, materials, and equipment and track inventory Meet contractual conditions of performance Review the work progress daily Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses Analyses, manage, and mitigate risks Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques Undertake other duties as assigned by the Project Director/COR Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivilant 7+ years of experience in construction project management with specific on-site construction experience across all phases of project delivery Vertical construction experience is a huge plus Deployed to OCONUS locations 95% of the time Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a top secret clearance The position requires a COVID vaccination or an approved accommodation/exemption for a disability/medical condition or religious belief Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Embassy construction program experience highly desired. Experience in security systems. Advanced knowledge of construction management processes means and methods. Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards. Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
