Instructional Designer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently seeking an <b>Instructional Designer</b> on a contract basis to support our Training & Competence Services group located in Vancouver, B.C. This role will focus on consulting and designing comprehensive custom learning solutions as well as working with our clients in a variety of industrial settings to design and develop competence assurance tools. Due to the nature of the role, we will only consider local, qualified candidates at this time. <br><br><b> Responsibilities: </b> <br><ul><li> Providing guidance and input to project team members in the development of training materials with a focus on e-learning design. </li><li> Producing and writing training materials. </li><li> Conducting training needs analysis. </li><li> Recommending appropriate instructional and evaluation strategies for custom-designed training program components. </li><li> Working with client training departments to develop strategies to meet their business objectives. </li><li> Collaborating with the production team in the design and development of the training components. </li><li> Working with subject matter experts to identify and develop role profiles, performance assessments, and training content. </li><li> Developing templates for training materials. </li><li> Facilitating workshops including delivering Train-the-Trainer sessions. </li><li> Supporting the business development team in determining learning solutions for identified business opportunities and writing proposals. </li><li> Actively exploring emerging learning technologies, and innovative best practices training solutions. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Masters Degree in Instructional Design, Distributed Learning, or Educational Technology. </li><li> Minimum 10 years experience in all phases of instructional design, including needs assessment, curriculum design and development, content development and training evaluation preferably in one or more process industries. </li><li> A background in developing e-Learning solutions and working with different learning management systems. </li><li> Experience in determining training strategies matched to client business goals. </li><li> Ability to design a range of adult learning materials for corporate sector clients. </li><li> Familiarity with the capabilities of current/emerging development and delivery technologies. </li><li> Strong verbal communication skills and experience consulting with mid to senior level client contacts. </li><li> Ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team. </li><li> Demonstrate proficiency in presentation and writing skills. </li><li> Ability to structure time and work to deadlines and budget. </li><li> Experience working with similar client base is an asset. </li><li> Willingness to travel internationally </li><li> Must be a Canadian citizen, or authorized to work legally in Canada, without sponsorship with Wood </li></ul><br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
