Chief Engineer

<p><strong><u>Experience</u>:</strong></p>

<li>Minimum of 2-year in similar rank on similar vessel type</li>

<ul>
<li>The ability to understand interface relationship between marine and project personnel.</li>
<li>Able to communicate effectively and articulately at all levels.</li>
<li>An awareness of international Codes, Standards and Specifications.</li>
<li>Pleasant disposition with the capability to be authoritative when necessary.</li>
<li>Clear and effective oral and written communications skills in English language.</li>
<li>Thorough knowledge and understanding of principle discipline and peripheral subjects.</li>
<li>Strong coordination, organization and liaison skills with the ability to seek and gain consensus solutions to complex issues.</li>
</ul>

<p><u><strong>Main Responsibilities:</strong></u></p>

<ul>
<li>Head of department for the engineering and in-situ diving equipment.</li>
<li>Taking responsibility for the efficient, safe running and maintenance of the mechanical, electrical, diving (classed items) and ancillary equipment and deck machinery on board the vessel, together with the safe and efficient use of the manpower available.</li>
<li>Ensuring the operation of all machinery Planned Maintenance Systems, and Survey Planning with inspection and verification of items of plant, to maintain the vessels class.</li>
<li>Being available for 24 hr. call out as not a watchkeeper.</li>
<li>The upkeep of the vessels Technical and SOP Manuals.</li>
<li>Responsible for ensuring that all members of the Engine Room Department are thoroughly conversant with the Oil in Navigable Waters.</li>
<li>Regulations. These regulations are fully explained in DTP notices and must be strictly observed, and the proper records kept.</li>
<li>Ensuring the certification package is in date and complies with DESIGN &amp; IMCA.</li>
<li>In cooperation with the Vessel superintendent prepared dry dock specification and Work scopes.</li>
<li>Assist Master for the implementing the Company&
39;s policies and Safety Management System.</li>
</ul>
