ºckup Administrator - L2 Level Job Description: (Storage and Backup) The role will require a solid technical knowledge supporting primarily CommVault and HPE & NetApp Storage infrastructures. Design, Installation, Migration and configuration of existing Storage and Backup infrastructure and associated components at various Data Center locations. Willing to work in 24x7 production support. Experience with HPE 3PAR, MSA, NetApp arrays (Mandatory) Experience with CommVault and Veritas Backup tools (Mandatory) Experience with Brocade zoning required. Experience with HPE StoreOnce & HPE MSL Libraries. Experience with HPE Enclosure, Blade,DL & Synergy servers preferred. Excellent troubleshooting skills in Storage and Backup infrastructure. Conduct bottleneck evaluation to identify performance issues. Provide architecture as well as performance recommendations to DBAs and Ops Knowledge of encryption of the Backup environment preferred. Proactive measures and preventive measure for problems /errors. Provide recommendations to improve design and reduce cost. Respond quickly and effectively to backup issues and outages. Develop and implement automated solutions to support operational and SLA objectives. Understanding of network routing and firewall requirements to ensure our backups are using our dedicated backup infrastructure. Setting up data deduplication disk pools and tape backup devices. Preparing scripting for automation and performance tuning. Collaborate with DBA as well as Ops to assure apt storage usage. Ensure compliance to client and organization processes and policies. Identify, own and mitigate risks. Management of storage, Backup domain SLAs and KPIs. Liaise with vendors & OEMs for the technical issues /escalations. Good knowledge of Windows, Linux, VMware and Hyper-V Ability to design techniques and methodologies to solve unprecedented problems. Participate in the assessment of new requirements, design and technical standards. Proactively notify customers of failed backup work so that errors can be corrected quickly. Ensure troubleshooting in the event of errors and backup problems, and to resolve and analyze the root causes. Maintain documentation of configuration, operation and troubleshooting procedures, and service records for data storage and backup hardware and software. Through proactive capacity planning, performance control and configuration adjustment Analyze and report on system performance. Enable and support the team in resolving day-to- day production issues, disaster recovery exercise and other activities as may be necessary. Virtualization – VMware & Hyper-V basic understanding
